Trade Drawer: How About This One?
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=cts5t5
There aren't many guys I'd be excited to add to the current mix, but Tayshaun Prince is one of them.
Detroit makes significant upgrades at two positions (PF and backup PG) and could be excited about the possibility of Amare playing with Sheed and the Answer. The drawback: they'll have to start Herrman at SF, or rework that front line.
Phoenix gets a cheap, serviceable guy with a bright future to replace Amare, and two expiring contracts.
And we get Tayshaun. Man, I love that guy. And Bayless gets more playing time.

uh no way phoenix does it
they would want another good young talent
maybe.
the Suns are looking seriously at Tyrus Thomas. I think Thomas has greater offensive potential, but the Suns’ big problem has been too much offense, not enough defense. Johnson has great defensive potential – Hollinger calls him “one of the game’s top big man prospects, a Marcus Camby in the making.”
He’s only 21. And he’s big enough (listed at 6’9" but more like 6’11" or 7’) to play center when Shaq retires.

Actually...
..Tyrus is more like 6’7", 6’8". His biggest concern coming out of college was that he was undersized for a PF. Turns out he fooled us all. His biggest concern is that he’s a nut job. Good luck PHX!
this has been a message from: "The People's Alliance to give Greg Oden at least a couple of seasons."
i wasn't talking about Thomas
I was talking about Johnson.
my point being – if they’re looking at Thomas, they might look at Johnson. But nice point – Tyrus is, Johson isn’t, a nut job.

That makes sense.

i don't think
Detroit would part with Sheed and Prince. That’s an awful lot to give up.

Detroit has realized
that their winning seasons are done for now. That’s part of the reason they traded Chauncey Billups, they are looking towards the future, and Sheed, and perhaps Prince, aren’t a part of it.
My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...
i think Detroit
needs to reevaluate what they’re trying to do. They made the trade for Iverson, a flashy, run and gun guy. Without Chauncey, Prince on that team makes less sense. Especially with Stuckey running the show, a guy like Amare looks like a better fit.
Their defense would go to crap, for certain, but it’s already halfway there.

I like it for us
but phoenix wont like getting hosed like that…maybe throw them a couple draft picks and travis outlaw somehow?

Here's my deal from last night
Way down in the Porter thread than Ben started. (This may be my final "Hinrich/Deng proposal…unless we hear about another rumor of what kind of players Chicago/Phoenix are looking for or talking about…)

John Paxson would probably say “no” because he’s giving up three of his “rotation” players. But hey, you’re getting the only “all-star” in the deal, so take Amare and be happy!
I don't want Hinrich or Deng
get your own thread. ;)

I'd rather have Prince, too
but there’s been less buzz re: the Piston’s interest in Amar’e. Maybe if they can get Sheed into the deal somehow they’d be more ammenable?
they lose one, they get a better one.
pretty simple.

How in the world
Does not having a bench improve our team?
My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...
I hope the guys don't mind playing some minutes...

kind of weird...
that you can even make a trade WORK that involves Houston giving up Yao Ming and getting nothing back.
