Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

This story proves Roy has no concern for his Spanish teamate. What a jerk!

This better be a joke.

I’m sure that Rudy understands that Roy wanted to be with his family and didn’t think about twice.

A jerk...? Really...?

How does this make him a jerk? He wanted to spend time with his family, and I’ve heard Rudy chose Pau…

This comes from the mainposts...

The big question was, “Where was Roy?” Some people were using this to try to create some controversy between Roy and Rudy.

He was with his family. I think I can give him a pass on why he wasn’t throwing a ball off a backboard in an event that was rigged anyway.

I think he's joking.

The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Last I checked Rudy was hanging out with a Laker

Rudy could have found anyone else to throw up a pass from behind the backboard. Instead he choose a laker. Easy

I hoped my over the top comment would be obvious...

and that people involved in the earlier discussion on the “selfish” Roy would enjoy the joke.

My bad

I’m still new to this, sorry :)

I took the risk...

We have tried to come up with a sarcasm font but it sort of takes away from the joke. Tone is really hard to judge in e-mails and many of us make assumptions that people have read all the same stuff we have and the blog is just too big to make that assumption anymore. No apology required. I expected a certain level of misunderstanding.

Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had agreed with the post and defended me before I had a chance to let on I was joking.

Its funny.

When you posted this, I expected this exact same misunderstanding to occur haha

I still think Roy should have been there to support Rudy

I’d rather hang out with Rudy than hang out with my family.

We´re waiting for Dave jumping first.

If he jumps off the bridge we jump off the bridge. That´s what followers do.

Sergio + Rudy = 16

what exactly was the point of your comment?

It sounds like it should be insulting, but it has nothing to do with anything. Roy is not God’s Son and nobody is questioning his greatness, and Oden had nothing to do with this post so why even bring him up?

I can't tell if you knew I was kidding

I kind of explained above what I was doing. Roy is great and I think his commitment to his family (wife, children, and mother) when he could be out getting his face on TNT and “building his resume” is commendable. The best was when he shipped the game ball from his 52 point performance to his parents because they weren’t there. Not only is he a great player but his head is on straight. It makes it even more enjoyable to root for him.

for your information

mr.cool hand roy in may’s upcoming issue of dime mag the franchise"b.roy"will grace the cover and the cover will say in bold letters(GOD’S SON)BOOK IT !!!where was this sorry franchise before he got here, that’s right in the damn gutter.the league’s punching bag.people like s.a.smith bagging on this proud franchise.and unlike many of you people,i was in the crowd of about 5,000 people a night dude.ws you ?

by fatty on Feb 16, 2009 8:06 AM PST reply actions

Congratulations on your moment

How did you manage to do that again? Can you not give a straight answer? Or is the urge to turn every single one of your comments into some kind of “listen here, boy” preacher sermon just too strong?

Nobody was talking about this franchise or what Brandon Roy has done for it. The original post was meant as a joke. And good grief, nobody cares if you’ve been to every Blazer game since the day you were born, it doesn’t mean anything. Your comments should be solid gold with how much you pretend to know.

Stop waiting for your turrets to kick in before you type.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
