Oden Will Miss Rookie Game

"NBA.com reports that Trail Blazers center Greg Oden (sore left knee) will miss the Rookie Challenge because of a sore left knee. Oden bumped knees with Golden State's Corey Maggette during the fourth quarter of Portland's 105-98 loss to the Warriors Thursday night. Oden is listed as day-to-day.

Oregonian NBA reporter Geoffrey C. Arnold will report more from Phoenix shortly."

It’s a 2 hour dunkfest, that’s precisely a game where Oden would look like the destroyer of souls.

Vinny Del Negro interviewed for the job today. I mean come on! Nobody else thinks this is nuts?

Unfortunately I think you're right

Its not like the game is meant to be a team effort. Most years you can probably count the number of times the ball is passed on one hand, so expecting Oden to get more than just second-chance cleanup duty is beyond optimistic.

I was disappointed that he wasn’t going to play, but really the rest is good for him.
