Vescey reporting Kerr to coach Suns (TP OUT)
http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/57216/20090213/kerr_to_replace_porter_as_head_coach/#
"Meanwhile, according to a Phoenix source, Porter will be replaced by Kerr, who recently completed a crash correspondence coaching course taught by McHale and Tony DiLeo."
It's Vescey, so take it with a grain of salt.
Still, if it's true, how sad for TP. Just one bad situation after another.
Maybe they aren't trading Amar'e after all. Reports were that he was not a fan of Porter's system. Instead of having a fire sale, they might have decided to keep him around...

yep.. when i see it i believe it. Also he is the source of the Paxson out as GM of Bulls rumors.. so take that for what its worth as well.
It was "mascot night" at the Rose Garden, which apparently translates to a dozen inflatable versions of various NBA mascots being chased around the arena by Portland's "Blaze", which is some breed of rapist dog. -PostingandToasting

I feel sorry for TP having to coach that mess
I’m not going to claim TP doesn’t have share any of the blame but few NBA coaches could make something out of that group.

Koponen - PG of the future. For Italy, that is. Book it.

Also, Canzano is reporting he's hearing RJeff to the Blazers.

so
RLEC, Sergio, Travis, and “a draft pick” for Jefferson and Ridnour.
meh. I’d probably do it, but I’d see what it would take make it sessions instead.
Rule #1 of nitpicking is to get it right.

No, wait!
My bad, I read that as Dickau for some reason.
I would LOVE Luke here. He’s a friend of the family and he’s a really, really great guy. Perfect as Jerryd’s back up for the future of the team.
Plus, addition by subtraction with Travis. Sorry, folks.

That is just terrible
The Blazers could get Jefferson with just RLEC.
Ridnour didn’t even finish games under McMillan. Daniels was the closer.

Ridnour is overated....
If they put Sessions into this deal, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Why would you want a guy that takes minutes from Bayless?
I’m ok with Rid as a 3rd string backup.

Because one of those is sure to emerge as a future starter in this league. That would be a great battle

I'd rather have clearly defined roles than battles.

Man...
I think we all knew when TP took this job it was going to be difficult, I can’t help but think he didnt really get a fair shake. I want to believe he’s a good coach, just hasn’t yet found the perfect fit of a job.
I dont necesarrily think this was a TP issue, any coach who would have taken over after D’antoni’s departure would have been in this situation.

Thus the transformation to white Isiah Thomas is almost complete.
