Halberstam's "Breaks of the Game" Available 02.17.2009
This is probably old news by now to you guys, but that greatest of Blazer books, the Breaks of the Game, will be back on the market next Tuesday. A great way to celebrate George Washington's birthday.

It's not just the greatest of Blazers books
It’s the best basketball book ever and easily in my Top 5 sports books ever.
If you don’t have it, get it.

And while you're at it..
Read anything by Halberstam that you can get your hands on.
Besides his books about ’Nam, I especially recommend The Reckoning and Playing for Keeps.

What he wrote in "Breaks" about the corrosive effect of big t.v. advertising dollars on the NBA...
was on the mark. And subsequent years have magnified all the negative effects he pointed to.

Thanks for the heads up on this
I heard Bill Simmons talking about this book being re-released a few months ago, I hadn’t heard of it until he spoke of it. Sounds like a really good read. Thanks!
