i know its irrelevant for the long term
but its still nice that Oden showed up for this game.

i mean 1 game doesn't decide the Oden/Durant debate...
… but its nice that Oden is showing what he can do anyway.

Until the NBA reviews the game
and takes away his blocks.
Oden
Showing why he was the right pick for this team. He will be great some day mark my words…
He's Coming! Oden Slayer of Giants
Yeah he's more passionate now
Earlier he was mad at turnovers by guards and stuff.
The Kings have the best bench I’ve seen. There are easily 14 guys on this team good enough for every bench in the league. Now if we could only get some starters, I’d totally jizz in my pants.

Kind of wishing these guys were still in Seattle.
Watching them mature into a great rivalry would have been fun.
Only Nate would go to zone in a situation where the Thunder are grabbing offensive rebounds left and right

Sergio is awesome vs. New York, but can’t get it going tonight, and Bayless turns it over like crazy on Sunday but owns it tonight. There lies the value of Blake: consistency.

An admission: After the OKC game, I said some things. Stupid things. Things about Nate not knowing how to coach GO. It was only then I realized that I was in danger of becoming that which I most loathe - an uninformed, knee jerk fan who reacts to wins with wild delusions of championships and losses with trade and firing fodder. I will not be that fan. From this point on I will support the Blazers, the coaches and front office wholeheartedly, offering praise and criticism appropriate to the matter at hand. I say Collison would be a useful bench player (~8th man) on a lot of quality teams.

I was talking about Weaver and Westbrook.
You could even make a case for Jeff Green on that list.

I am wrong about him. I still stick to my guns with Westbrook and Weaver though.
by Ireallyliketheblazers on Feb 11, 2009 9:28 PM PST up reply actions
Westbrook is roughly equivalent to Bayless
Its conceivable that he would ride pine on the Blazers (if Blake was healthy). There would be a place for him as a combo guard off the bench on plenty of teams.
Boomshakalaka
I just don't like his FG% and the turnovers...
I wouldn’t trust him with the ball or trust him when takes a shot.

Two thoughts
Jeff Green is a small forward, not a power forward.
Russell Westbrook is not a point guard.
Me and my brother have been trying to figure out who Westbrook reminds us of, i think the closest I can think of is Stevie Franchise
any thoughts?
Exactly
Somewhere between him and O.J. Mayo and Rose is a D-Wade in that draft class. And B-Rex as our Monta Ellis/Tony Parker mix :)
The cake is a lie. Trade the cake!
Hes like Bayless
If bayless got starters minutes.
Don't be too quick to judge Westbrook.
He’s young, skilled and still averaging 5 assists per game. He will be solid if not a great point guard one day.
I like whatever metric makes a Blazer look better.
That may be
his turnover ratio sucks. He’s still too raw to box up neatly, so I would save judgement at this point.

Much better all around
Actually had a hand in the Thunder’s faces most of the night. Gregzilla was dominating. 22 points 23 rebounds and 4 blocks. Probably Bayless best offensive game of the year. And Travis and Rudy played very well off the bench in the second half. Nice job!

it was a professional victory
the team on a back to back got tired and the Blazers put the game away when given the chance. Nice to see.

Agree
It was nice to see the bench put the game away. Tomorrow is going to be very tough for us I think.

Plus they play a style that is usually bad news for us
Full throttle all the time.

especially with us on a back to back
if we take bad shots and let them get out and run, we’re screwed.

Good comment
Professional is a good word to describe this win.

Yes and that's also why
Martell will also be better.

9 man rotation tonight (8 if you don't count Batum's 12mins)
I like how its rounding out. Could use a little TUFF JUICE!!! though
Highlight of the night
Rudy tea-bagging that dude in the press row.
All you people that don’t have comcast should be thankful, that f-ing taco bell commercial they play every break makes me want to put a t-shirt gun in my mouth and pull the trigger.
Life is hilarious.

off topic but
Did anyone else see the Beat LA t-shirts for only $7.99 at Joes?
At a Clipper Game...
It took me better than a quarter to realize the guy behind me was rooting for the Clippers instead of LaMarcus. After that, everytime he yelled, “Go L.A.” I followed it up with, “Way to Go, LaMarcus!”

He did
Green abused him a couple of times on defense, but Travis came right back at him.

His two TOs were so memorable that they seem like 7...

But I do think we micromanage his game too much
Yes they were bad, but Bayless and Sergio both had some horrible turnovers as did Rudy and even Batum.

micromanage isn't the correct word.
I’m too tired to think of the right word….

Does anybody have
a link to the video for the game? I know somebody posted a website a few weeks back that had all the games in HD once they were finished, but I stupidly forgot to bookmark the site. I went to the game and just want to watch some video from certain points…
BOO YEAH!
I went alone!(thanks everyone for not coming!) But then met my mcfaddens crew! no drinking but! BUT! But section 324 won the most delicious Roses Cinnamon Rolls! Mmm mmm mmm DEEE LICIOUS! Just like that 4th quarter!
