If we did,
John Wall would suddenly find himself ineligible for health insurance.

We would also be the absolutely wrong team for him
He needs a high speed offense for his twists and turns
If we're in a position to draft Wall
we’re probably in a position for other moves as well.

As a fan I'm tired of always having to think,
“Welp, there’s always next year.” I swear it gets old after awhile.
Reality for most franchises.
Being in PDX is bad cuz only one pro major league team, unless you can adopt the Seattle teams…
"The match in Los Angeles is a good opportunity to begin to demonstrate that we want to make war." Rudy Fernández (translated)
I have adopted the Seattle teams. Seems to be the same way for the Mariner and Seahawks. hehe. It's still fun to watch and root though.
At least the odds of at least one of the teams coming around to contention impoves
"The match in Los Angeles is a good opportunity to begin to demonstrate that we want to make war." Rudy Fernández (translated)
I know. We've had some seriously bad luck.
And even if we didn’t, it seems like our development is sloooww.
Drive. Get fouled. Score and one's
Mark my words... Dante Cunningham will be an all star
Ugh
Not to be totally negative, but if this is what we are going to play like without oden, it is going to be a long 60 games. Hopefully just an fluke. Hopefully.

There is almost zero movement in our offense
Feels like watching a team full of Nowitzkis posting up 1 on 1. Only he can hit those.
They won't make changes with the head coach unless it's unavoidably necessary...
That might be by the end of this game.
It would be something to fire the coach
when he’s on the couch, at home, recovering from surgery.

Even if there was a chance it would happen (there's not)
They’d sacrifice the road trip and do business at home.
Also, since Nate was injured on company business, I bet they’d offer to reassign him in the organization to a front-office role.
They aren't under any obligation to keep him on a specific duty
They have to pay his contract and his medical bills, but I wouldn’t expect otherwise were it to happen.
I am Spartacus and I approved this message
by EngineerScotty on Dec 7, 2009 6:10 PM PST up reply actions
Oh I know there's no obligation
But I have a feeling they’d rather not have the media report that they fired a coach (who works for team USA) in the middle of recovery for an injury he got on duty.
If they did, I suspect the press release would have a very specific section on how his injuries will be taken care of by the team.
weeeee
i guess when you stand around not guarding anyone they call defensive 3 seconds on you

I don't think the Lord is having much to do with Roy at the moment
"The match in Los Angeles is a good opportunity to begin to demonstrate that we want to make war." Rudy Fernández (translated)
And the fire Nate movement seems apt again. This team is just not ready to play this season.
It's a tune-out fest.
Agreed,,,
Hasn’t Dean been with Nate for a long time?
Dean is Nate's #2 for a while now
That’s why he’s doing the coaching right now instead of Monty, who is well-regarded and almost got the Minn job.
There's the Roy iso and the Aldridge jump shot. Oh yes the Blake three.

Then he’d leave the game and the opponents would go on a run?
Well, this is the first full game without him. It’ll take time for the team to adjust. I’m surprised they’re not falling back into their 2007 roles easier.

Simmons might have been generous...
Of course, he didn’t know we’d lose Oden. This is really depressing. I’ve rooted for plenty of Blazers teams that didn’t win a lot of games, but this isn’t even fun to watch. The offense is stagnant and ugly and the defense….the less said about that, the better. This isn’t just failing to live up to expectations; this is almost exactly the opposite of what I hoped for this year.
I don’t know if I can go through this many more times. :(
Simmons doesn't know jack
he got lucky. We lose Batum, Outlaw, and Oden. Don’t give that Homer any credit
They've had injuries, sure
But how does that explain the lack of effort and skill from those who remain? It’s a team wide regression. I don’t get it.

Serious question:
You guys think Roy’s gonna get voted into All Star? His numbers are down, and he still seems off or confused to me. Maybe if he doesn’t, it could be a wake up call?
depends on our record. if we slip to .500 or below, then no.

and I am sure he does want to be traded
I HOPE HE WANTS TO BE TRADED. When Blake is getting 30mpg, and Bayless can barely break the rotation, something is wrong. KP won’t trade him, and he will get his time before his contract is up. By then, PA’s money keeps him in Ptown…

IMO, Id' be careful poo-poo-ing this one
"The match in Los Angeles is a good opportunity to begin to demonstrate that we want to make war." Rudy Fernández (translated)
Well that's kind of his job....
anyway, if that report were true it would not suprise me.

All the Blazers are likable people
But Oden stands apart.

whats not funny is the blazers announcers are matching the players in skill and intensity
calling out that blazers are just missing good shots after blake botched that play

When the Knicks give you a general feeling of being overmatched, that's a bad sign...
I’m not worried that the Blazers are losing to the Knickerbockers…
I’m worried that it doesn’t feel like a fluke.
At least the Blazers will be adding another lottery pick to their stable of talent. Draft day 2010 will be fun.
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.
Duhon is a thug

The fact that Bayless isn't getting more PT is a joke
If the Blazers continue to insist on playing Blake huge minutes for no apparent reason, as his PER hovers around 10, they will continue to drift towards the lottery.
It’s one thing when you’re stacked with talent and have Travis and Greg scoring double digits most nights. It’s another to rely on Blake when you have Przy and Martell on the floor for huge minutes and you really need scoring.
Q: Is Greg favoring his knee?
Frye: He favors dunking on your head, that's what he favors.

Don't want to get too deep. But, it doesn't look like they're playing for each other.
This is the first time I’ve felt like this team could totally fall apart.
I want them to win
But that wouldn’t be totally a bad thing. It would be a good look into which players are actually good when things are falling apart. Patty Mills? Bayless? Dante? You gotta go through the fire right?
see when jawan comes in he brings the energy

JBay is the future at PG.
I see him as a Tony Parker for the blazers once he develops a little more. I might have to retire my Steve Blake fandom and change my name to JBaylessFan.
You might want to start that yesterday.
