I'd keep Miller and trade Blake

I'd keep Miller and Trade Steve Blake and his expiring contract, along with next year's first round pick, for Tryrus Thomas. The contracts match. Throw in some cash as well or even the rights to Victor Claver. Whatever it takes.

We have Webster and Rudy to offset any lack of outside shooting weakness on the part of Miller. Plus Roy and Bayless are pretty good outside shooters too.

This would solve the Miller/Blake who is starting dramas and give Bayless more of a run, whuch he has proven he deserves.

Also when healthy, Tyrus is a game changer. He can block shots, shoot from deep, play great defense. I think he'd be a great asset to the Blazers, especially when LMA plays the 5 in a smaller lineup. Tyrus would be a fantastic acquisition. He is super talented.

Who would want guys like Bass or Gortat on the Blazers. Those players don't change games. They're boring and ordinary. Tyrus is anything but.

If KP is going to make a move, I hope this is it.

Anyway. Go Blazers!!!

Actually I don't think that TT

can shot from deep. Unless you think 10ft is deep. He has zero range well maybe 10-12ft. I don’t see a point in trading for Thomas and keeping Outlaw. There play very similar roles just one is a better offensive player while the other a defensive one. Both a PF/SF off the bench type of players. If we got TT we should trade Travis.

Why does Chicago do this?

They already have Rose and Hinrich.

There are teams out there that would want Blake, but I seriously doubt that Chicago is one of them.

Thomas is a good role player with a broken arm.

The Blazers need healthy players and the last thing the Bulls need is the poorest man in the world’s Hinrich.

Not sure Blake & his expiring contract are all that attractive to them

I think Chicago is already in a good position salary-wise for the 2010 free agent class. And as noted above have two superior players at PG.

I wouldn't be interested in Blake either but...

if they add in next year’s 1st round pick, the rights to Claver, and $3million in cash (which would pretty much buy out Blake’s contract, I would be interested.

What better offers are they going to get?

Plus I think Tyrus is owed something like $6 mil next season, so the Bulls would save more off their cap… I think… not 100% sure because it’s a qualifying offer. So I think if the Bulls don’t make an offer he’ll be an unrestricted free agent and get nothing in return. Me, I’d rather have Portland’s first round pick and Victor Claver than nothing.

Outlaw isn’t coming back this year and isn’t half the player Tyrus is. And, sadly, Batum won’t be playing this season either.

Whatever moves KP makes I hope it’s a tall athletic forward who will be a difference maker in games.

Who said that Outlaw and Batum

aren’t coming back this year? I thought that they would be back before the All-Star break.

by VinnyB on Dec 7, 2009 4:27 AM PST reply actions

Outlaw is likely done?

like out for the year?

When the Blazers play bad I don't like them less... I like Blazers Edge less.

I stand corrected...

The credible stuff says March for Trout. I think the folks saying he was done for the year were the naysayers.

or they are just remembering Martell.

I wouldn’t be suprised if both Batum and Outlaw stay out for the whole season, especially if this team misses the playoffs.

Reminds me of an old quip
If I owned Texas and I owned Hell, I’d rent out Texas and live in Hell.

Make what you will out of this. I think Miller is a hell of a guard. But is he what the Blazers need? You can’t rent out Blake, although you could trade him. But what could you get back? The Mexicans “traded” Texas to the United States in return for a cessation of hostilities. Do we have to repeat the lessons of history? Should we declare war on the Spurs, Rockets, and Mavericks?

Don't know anything about Tyrus Thomas. I just want Miller to start and feel like

the only way this will happen is if Blake is traded. Nice guy but shouldn’t start IMO. I think Miller would be better if he started and played more minutes with Roy and Aldridge. I think Roy is getting TIRED playing the way he does…so much harder than the easy buckets he could be getting with Miller’s style of play. Also want a different style of coaching…all I want for xmas….sheesh….

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
