Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Thank You Greg

Just want to say that there are few things in life that make me as excited as watching others achieve their dreams. Really, that is what sports and being a fan is all about. This couldn't be more true than with a person like Greg Oden. And I say "person", because it is not just the player that Greg Oden is, and has been, but it is the character and demeanor that he has exemplified throughout his career that deserves applause. That is what makes it so hard to see players like Greg, who are presumably living their dream, a dream that we all truly wish we could live, and then have it crushed by injuries that seem to be in nobody's control. So, yes, while I write this as a Greg Oden fan, and a Blazer fan, I more write this as a fan in general, to draw attention and focus to what it is that sometimes makes players even better than their sport, better than their gift, and better than the things they achieve... but to what makes them inspirational.

Greg, you are a great player, an awesome teammate, and an inspirational person. I wish you all the best in your recovery, and the pursuit of your dreams. Thanks for letting me share in them with you.

BLZN Nate

Totally agreed.

As soon as Greg went down I almost turned the game off, as he is the major reason I love watching the Blazers this year. It was a great story, he was proving all the doubters wrong, then this had to happen. KP was right, it was a sucker punch to the gut of Greg, his teammates, and all Blazer fans. Hopefully Greg can recovery in time to get some good work in during the offseason.

yea

It sucks to see him out for the year. He’s my favorite player. Looked like he could of made a legit run at the all-star roster this season. Here’s to next year, I guess the advantage of having a down year (I’m assuming seeing as Batum, Outlaw & Oden are all out for the year basically) we can have a nice draft pick.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
