Oden's injury from a Nuggets fan...
Im a huge Nuggets fan first and foremost so im obviously obligated to not like your Rip City Blazers one bit (i like em better than the Jazz at least)....although ill admit B-Roy is quickly climbing in my "favorite players to watch" list. But anyway, i loved Oden's game at THE ohio state and was pretty scared when he got drafted by the blazers. He seems like such a good guy i HATE to keep seeing him getting hurt, even if he is on the Nuggs biggest rival.
Heres to a speedy recovery for the big man and to a healthy season for my Nuggs and your Blazers. Nothin is better than watching these 2 teams battle for 48 min with a full cast of healthy, talented, inked up players...lol. Good luck the rest of your season guys!

Thanks a lot. Classy post. People being nice eases the pain a little bit.
The division is officially yours now, so please beat the Lakers this year in the playoffs.

very cool
you guys have some butt-crazy, ugly players—but it’s a good rivalry and it’s all for fun. This isn’t fun, it’s real—so we appreciate the sense of perspective. Best to you this season.
A confession
The Nuggets are home to the non-Blazer (Carmelo Anthony) who is my favorite player in the league. Good luck to you this season.
Always supporting Greg Oden.
Maybe we can trade our Roy/Melo jerseys for a day sometime....
MAYBE…lol

Melo's offensive game is a thing of beauty
inside, outside, there is no way to cover that man one on one. Most devastating offensive player in the league, including Kobe. Also, I have a lot of respect for how he’s grown as a person after having a start to his career that had a lot of folks wondering if he’d ever realize his full potential. He lives for the big moment, and he plays with the edge all the great one’s have. The true people’s champion of the NBA.
Always supporting Greg Oden.
Yeah, he is absolutely ridiculous this year, a totally different player even from a year ago.
He truly is unstoppable. He is a lot of fun to watch.

THANK YOU
Also, something to remember:
The Nuggets know first hand about dealing with injuries to their man in the middle. Nene battled a series of injuries and suffered a career threatening knee injury in 2005-06 as well as fighting off Cancer in 08. He’s come back really strong, putting up career numbers this year. If we want a good example of someone whos been able to battle back after facing adversity, we dont need to look much further than our division rival nuggs.
Absolutley....
Not to mention i believe K-Mart is the only pro athlete to have micro-fracture surgery on both knees and still play at the level he does now…
Injurys are no fun at all and hopefully Oden just keeps his head up and gets through it. I read some interviews with Brandon Roy and he said that Greg really was apologizing and thinking he let the team down again, couldnt feel worse for the kid who just wants to help his team by being on the court. Keep your head up Greg!

Thanks. And I have to admit, I have a soft spot in my heart for the Nuggets.
But that doesn’t mean I won’t root against them if the Blazers would benefit from them doing poorly.
:(
You may not want to hear it from us, but we Laker fans were sad to learn of Oden’s injury.
We’d much rather battle you at full strength, and we know a little about franchise centers suffering season-killing knee injuries…….best wishes.
It's cool that L@ker fans have come on here to say things like this
And it is appreciated.
But that doesn’t mean we actually want you guys to win. :)

Division is yours
Thanks. Glad to see knowledgeable NBA fans out there. Division is yours Denver; just Beat LA for us in the playoffs if we don’t surprise them in the first round.

Not at all...
I hav a sneaky suspicion Roy and the boys wont hand us the division just yet…

From Portland, now live in CO
And I really do like the Nuggets. They play VERY well at the Pepsi center and despite the lackadaisical fans, they are my favorite franchise outside of portland.
Kills me that I have to root against them, but I do love Melo and Chauncey and their frontcourt plays the style I wish the blazers play.
ALSO kills me that we now have 3 ex-nuggets on the roster (and they werent even that great)
Thanks.
Nice post from a seemingly classy character.

Thanks for the nice words.
Really don’t like the Nuggs but that’s mostly ‘cause they physically beat on my Blazers. And because ’Melo so danged unstoppable that it’s infuriating.
But really the only bad character on the team is J.R. Smith. A criminally reckless driver who actually caused the death of a friend with his knuckleheaded ways behind the wheel. But my favorite incident was when he was forced to shut down his Twitter account because he was writing in a style specifically attributed to the Bloods. WHAT AN IDIOT! An idiot with a really smooth stroke from outside.
But I love ’Melo and Chauncey and Nene, and even K-Mart is more bark than bite, even if he does have the worst tattoos in the history of sports.
Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.
My heart sank when I saw the Oden news on ESPN ...
I caught the special Oden filmed with Bill Walton, David Robinson, Bill Russell and a couple other legendary centers on NBA TV before the season. Greg was very humble and seemed genuinely excited to be in a room among some of the best centers in the history of the league. It was a cool show and everybody was offering up advice.
Watching Oden this season I started to think he was filling out some of his promise. To have him out for the season definitely sours the rest of the Nuggets vs. Blazers games … along with all the other Blazer injuries. Portland is my favorite team to play as on NBA 2K9 (Haven’t played 10 yet) because of all the depth.
Hope Oden can come back and get back to playing how he was this season and prove his doubters wrong. Hard working players are appreciated by this writer and Oden definitely filled that bill.
Nice to see our reader abaca15 post here first.
