Oden out...sad but good may come

Today will be remembered as the day the Blazers path in the NBA shifted...For the worse? I don't think so. Oden was an amazing player and was a vital part of our team, but I think his injury might've healed the Blazers wounds. During post-game, Roy was talking about how well Miller Played. We also finally won a game, after a three game losing streak. This is a sad event, and I fully regret saying this, but this might be what we needed. Now, although we're screwed by injuries, we are a slightly improved version of last years team. This is because of an improvement by Bayless, Dre movin in, Mr. Cunnigham rocking the second unit, and Martell and Rudy rocking the 2 and 3 backup. Blazer fans, you can quote me by saying "Here comes a wave that no one will expect. People will expect an easier win b/c of our trials, but we will get them with the surprise attack"

We all love you Oden and hope you come back soon, but let's prove that we are Blazer fans and not single player fans

Go Blazers

I dont even see how this is good in the short term unless the team hit it big in the lottery. That even seems unlikely.

We could go on a 20 game losing streak

And I would not feel nearly as bad as I feel about Oden right now.

We could go on a 20 game winning streak and it wouldn’t make me feel any better about Oden.

Oden was quietly becoming our best player, showing consistent signs of emerging into a star. Whether this Oden injury helps for this year or hurts doesn’t matter because now we have to really question what kind of Oden, if any at all we’ll have for the future.

My loyalty and love for The Blazers is as strong as every but I see no good coming out of this.

Next destination: John Wall?

Is it time to pack it in yet?

Man I feel sorry for Greg. He does NOT deserve this. Sorry big guy . . . . Boy this season suddenly has a different feel. Nic and TO you could kind of absorb, not the loss the Greg though (contrary to the original post here). I suddenly feel like we are the Bobcats or a team like that.

Oh, the humanity

Back to scrapping for a playoff spot. Should look about like last year with a lower seed. We need a big ASAP.

No good can come of this. This is less time that Greg is on the court, less time he is developing, less time that he is learning how to stay out of foul trouble, less time he is learning veteran tricks.

I appreciate you trying to polish a turd, but realize that this is devastating to the Blazers team, fans, and the NBA. Every injury Greg gets sets him back. This one really hurts.

Why are you reffering to Greg in the past tense?

Did he fracture his corotted artery?

I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

If I hear

any Oden=Bowie crap, I am going to throw up.

by PABroncofan on Dec 6, 2009 12:20 AM PST reply actions

We might win some games, but this is devastating.

I would have preferred any player, even Roy, getting injured over Oden. He was on the brink of proving the rest of the nation wrong and then breaks his freaking patella. He deserves a healthy career.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
