Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Like many of you I suspect, I've been mulling the Blazers' recent issues... It's easy to grouse about missed opportunities over the Summer, but where do our Blazers go from here?

I think they've got to let Miller start at PG

then re-assess the situation after Dec 15th. If after that brutal east coast road trip the team is below .500 it will be fish or cut bait time. Does KP make a mid-season deal in hopes of improving the roster and giving the team a chance to make the payoffs as a 5-8 seed. Or do they punt this season and wait until Batum and Outlaw get healthy? Will Paul Allen and the fanbase be able to stomach an injury-riddled “fall-back” to 40 wins campaign after the team did so well last year (and after the preseason expectations?) How will revenue be affected (merchandise, advertising, luxury box contracts)? All of this has to be factored in, and at this point none one can guarantee that non-action by KP will result in a playoff team, the WC is too strong and the team’s overall health is too fragile.

When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

Make a run at Camby?

He’s playing out of his mind and has an expiring deal. Could be a good short-term patch.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
