Jerryd Bayless is totally not the solution at point guard. Geesh, how many times does Nate Mcmillan have to say we need a Point Guard who can stretch the floor and shoot 3's. Jerryd Bayless sucks at 3 pointers, he's only shooting 43% from downtown this year. Steve Blake shoots a whole 37.2% and Rudy shoots 39% now thats how you shoot 3's. We need a point guard that takes pressure off of Brandon Roy and opens things up for him to work. Teams barely even have to pay attention to Jerryd Bayless, how do you expect Brandon to work with that. Not only does Jerryd's 43% from downtown not cut hit, his other shots are such a low percentage too. His FG% is only 46.3%. Brandon Roy shoots 45.2%,Rudy shoots 42.4% and Dre shoots 40.1%, now thats how to score efficiently. Screw this 46.3% nonsense (and being the top FG% and 3pt% shooter of all our guards). How does it take pressure off of Brandon if our Point Guard can score so efficiently? JBay averages 8.5 ppg in a whole 15 minutes of playing time per game. Steve Blake only needs 30.1 mpg to score 7.2 ppg, now thats what I'm talking about. Not to mention Turnovers, thats where he really kills our team. He averages 0.8 turnovers per game. Man it makes me sick just thinking about him turning the ball over at least once every two games. Dre turns it over 1.97 times per game and Blake 1.45 times per game, now thats taking care of the ball! Plus he is getting much better at getting assists, those are lame why would we even want him to get other guys open looks? He isn't a point guard he's a COMBO GUARD! Once you check the combo guard box you just can't go back to being a point, duh. Jerryd actually can stay in front of quick guys on D, thats the dumbest thing i see him do lol what a sucker. You need to let your guy go past you so the D has to rotate and leave other guys open, Blake and Dre know what I'm talking about.
Aside from my sarcasm, I come to why I called him Jerryd "Gary Payton" Bayless. I'm sure many of you remember when Dre came in early this season and Nate told the story about Gary Payton and how he took Nate's job without even having to earn it. I kinda think maybe that story applies more to BRex than to Andre. A young, brash, confident, talented point guard who plays intense D and scores well rather than being Nate's definition of a "Pure Point Guard" comes in and Nate sits him at the end of the bench and doesn't give him opportunities. I can't help but wonder if Nate looks at Bayless and sees Gary the Glove grinning back at him and he yells "NO GARY! LEEME ALONE! YOU CANT TAKE MY... BLAKE'S JOB! HE EARNED IT!" I didn't understand when Nate said they knew what Bayless could do if given an opportunity. They knew he could score 31 points in a game with 7 assists and playing better D than any other guard on our team if given an opportunity, so they decided not to give him an opportunity so they didn't have to watch him do it?
