Players Worth A Look
On a night when the Blazers shocked anyone paying attention with a miraculous win over the Spurs, I wanted to take a moment to see if I could do a community service by creating a mega-thread about all the possible players we may look at acquiring in the hope that we can avoid 20 separate posts on individual trade ideas. It seems unlikely to succeed, but so did the Blazers tonight. I did my best to put players up there that I believe would potentially be available, and that may be of some use to the Blazers. Some of the Vets are just warm bodies. I'll add a comment with the ones that I think may be worth a second look.

The few that caught my eye
Jordan Hill – this guy is a player, but doesn’t fit NY’s system. Could be a steal
Jason Maxiell – probably a pipe dream, but would be a great add
Boris Diaw – Good “glue” player who is a good defender and can score on occasion
Reggie Evans – Always liked his game, and the fans would love his rebounding in Portland
Leon Powe – Not getting any run in Cleveland
Shavlik – Would be a cheap get, and a known quantity.
Craig Smith – Would LOVE this guy. Great rebounder and terrific interior scorer. Garbage man.
Eddy Curry – Could be obtainable and offer a longer-term backup Center solution assuming Joel bolts.
Diop – Was a regular just last season. Could be a good fill-in.

All I want for christmas is...
BRENDAN HAYWOOD FTW!
I'd like to think KP will go for a youngster, at this point
and ideally I’d like to see him add a kid who could play alongside either LMA or Oden in a 3 big man rotation (not another guy like Joel who can’t really play together with Greg)
It’s tough, because the team really needs a shot blocking threat but I’d like to see them get a shorter “wide-bodied” guy like Maxiell. I guess that’s why I like the idea of Turiaf so much, he’s stout and can block shots (plus Roy spoke up for adding Ronny, last spring)
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
I want Murphy!
A hardnosed big that rebounds and can shoot the three
C*mcast sucks!

Would the Pacers give him up?
I didn’t include him for that reason

Troy's spendy, too
Miller + Outlaw + capspace would be enough to match salaries, but why would indy make that deal?
I’m wondering why you didn’t include Turiaf?

Troy makes about $13 mill a year
so I don’t know if we have the salaries to match. Good player though.
KP can go up to 14 mil
add salaries Miller + Outlaw + capspace x 125 +100k
I wouldn’t do it for Murphy, but it could be done

I say we go on the young side...
My thought is we find a 4/5 to replace Pryz as he ages since bigs develop later in life anyway. Maybe we already have that in Pendergraph, I don’t know. I like the idea of a 3 man big rotation come playoff time.
