JD 12/24 Blazer Themed TV Show Titles

My first junk drawer. I'm interested in TV show titles that describe the Blazers. I have a few in mind.

Crab fishing in the Bering sea may be widely regarded as the most dangerous job in the world, but it's pretty clear that getting a defensive rebound while wearing a Trailblazers jersey is the Deadliest Catch.

So many players are injured right now it just breaks the heart, however could it be possible that 8 Is Enough?

With the ferocious B Rex and the ancient Juwan Howard on the floor will Nate let the team push the tempo or will the other Blazers be Walking With Dinosaurs?

The NBA contains a wide range of shooters with different stokes, but the prettiest stroke of all belongs to Webster.

These are so corny I don't think I can go on. Ok, one more.

Is that Steve Javie reffing the game tonight? I guess the officiating crew is comprised of Two and A Half Men.

Thank you and good night.

My theme song for this team is "Living on a Prayer"

Can’t do much better than this:

We’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got
‘Cause it doesn’t make a difference
If we make it or not
We’ve got each other and that’s a lot
For love – we’ll give it a shot

We’re half way there
Livin’ on a prayer
Take my hand and we’ll make it – I swear
Livin’ on a prayer

facts of life
You take the good, you take the bad,
you take them both and there you have
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

There’s a time you got to go and show
You’re growin’ now you know about
The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

When the world never seems
to be livin up to your dreams
And suddenly you’re finding out
the Facts of Life are all about you, you.

It takes a lot to get ‘em right
When you’re learning the Facts of Life. (learning the Facts of Life)
Learning the Facts of Life (learning the Facts of Life)

Actually I have been thinking of this song all night

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (the Judy Garland version…..the melancholy version). I always liked the sadness mixed with hope.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
Next year all our troubles will be
out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the yule-tide gay
Next year all our troubles will be
miles away

Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more

Someday soon, we all will be together
If the Fates allow
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.

(emphasis mine)

" Welcome to the Bedge....where good, is never good enough"…Rudiculous

They change up the lyrics to make it less sad...which is lame

See here ….

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Not sure why but the line "Hang a shining star upon the highest bough." always gets me.

I don’t think it’s just the lyrics, the melody is awesome right there.

Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."

different strokes

Now, the world don’t move to the beat of just one drum,
What might be right for you, may not be right for some.
A man is born, he’s a man of means.
Then along come two, they got nothing but their jeans.

But they got, Diff’rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff’rent Strokes.
It takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world.

Everybody’s got a special kind of story
Everybody finds a way to shine,
It don’t matter that you got not alot
So what,
They’ll have theirs, and you’ll have yours, and I’ll have mine.
And together we’ll be fine….

Because it takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world.
Yes it does.
It takes, Diff’rent Strokes to move the world.

BAYWATCH!!!
Some people stand in the darkness
Afraid to step into the light
Some people need to help somebody
When the edge of surrender’s in sight

Don’t you worry
It’s gonna be alright
Cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you out of my sight.

I’ll be ready
I’ll be ready
Never you fear
No don’t you fear
I’ll be ready
Forever and always
I’m always here.

In us we all have the power
But sometimes it’s so hard to see
And instinct is stronger than reason
It’s just human nature to me

Don’t you worry
Its gonna be alright
Cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you out of my sight.

I’ll be ready
I’ll be ready
Never you fear
No don’t you fear
I’ll be ready
Forever and always
I’m always here.

(Instrumental)

Cause I’m always ready
I won’t let you out of my sight

I’ll be ready
I’ll be ready
Never you fear
No don’t you fear
I’ll be ready
Forever and always
I’m always here.

would that food be anywhere close to acceptable at any other restaurant?

seriously, why would any guy in portland go to hooters, when it’s possible to get a much better deal, on much better food, at an establishment where the ladies don’t have ANY clothes.
I’m not directing this towards you, more at the geniuses who thought hooters in portland was a good idea.

Did you watch the Dallas game? That was the Howard I came to loath.

He’s still not the guy I want, but I give him that he is at least trying hard this year. And I never doubted that he can still box out for rebounds, set picks, and hit his standard shot from around the foul line. Apparently tonight he had his best game in forever. Hopefully that stays, but I would still like to see more time for Dante and Jeff than for Juwan.

NBA Fastbreak had some fun trivia.

Bayless scored 30+ points in his first NBA start.

That’s only happened 4 times in the last 15 NBA seasons. Name the other three players that did it. Hint: All of them have played this season.

If I recall, Yao didn't score any points in his debut.

They put that stat up to make us feel better when Oden got hurt last year. He was joined by Nash, and a few other famous people.

a long time ago we used basketball players as code names…

MJ – cunnilingus
stockton – assist
mailman – going to the hole
various big men – c. block

I'm going on a Dave boycott until AK1984 is brought back.

Standings

It looks lie pretty soon the Lakers will be pretty lonely at the top, with a bunch of teams fighting for position down to Utah, and from the Hornets and OKC down it’s lottery. As long as we cankeep ahead of those teams, playoffs are a possibility. Still with that thin front court they will tire pretty quickly as the season goes on, and give up games where the shots aren’t falling. If KP and Nate are still serious about the playoffs , they likely will have to do some move like the suggested Camby/Okafor/other available big man deal. I’m all for developing players, but Howard and Pendergraph with LaMarcus switching over is not an adequate center rotation. All rather C tweeners.

by Norsktroll on Dec 24, 2009 1:26 AM PST reply actions   0 recs

I don't mind a Blake and Outlaw for Camby deal

Camby is an expiring contract and can play with any of our (remaining) front court players. We wouldn’t be giving up anything vital in the long term and we could even resign Camby as a backup big next year.

My youngest sister and her new hubby got laid off from their jobs.

They are on unemployment and moved to my parents, my brobro is getting ready for grad school and is living at home, they got 3 dogs between the 3.

My mom has her dog, and my dad has his two dogs, so yup, that’s 6. Plus my other sister is becoming a spinster cat lady in her mid-20s, and will bring 2 cats to join the 2 cats already in the house.

2 of our old cats just passed away… they were 13 years old.

More dying tauntauns?
“J. Bay said he’s going to put on his twitter page I did it again,” Aldridge said, after which the two franchise cornerstones shouted, “Eeehhhhhhhh,” in unison.

Later, as Bayless was approached by a throng of reporters for an interview, he denied Aldridge’s twitter claim. Bayless went on to refuse praise, instead opting to given credit to teammates.

In the middle of one of Bayless’ answers, Aldridge, sitting about three lockers down from the second-year guard, screamed: “Oh, he’s gonna play it humble.”

I wish I could learn Cantonese. It’s much harder than Mandarin, but I like to hear it spoken…my ex was actually from Hubei in the middle of Mainland China, but she just loved Cantonese peeps and language…she was extremely cute…when she’d get mad at me she’d say stuff like, “Lao gong! Why can’t you be more like Cantonese man!” Heee heee!!!!! Bless her heart :—). ANd yes she had a thing for CAntonese men…you all are lady killers ;-)

Though I can’t say I’ve ever met a “Nets fan”. I’ve met a die hard fan from pretty much every other team, I’d say, but not the Nets…

Incredible indeed, and I hope repeatable.

I said below it didn’t feel like a freak win at all, so maybe (hope, hope) it is repeatable.

Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."

Last year we beat Boston w/o Roy.

We did have the twin towers, but we started 3 rooks and played 4.
Not sure what this means except that our scrappiness seems to come out when we need it. Now we just need it to come out when everybody’s healthy.
Maybe scrappiness is not the only thing, because we play a different style of ball also.

Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."

The thing that I liked was it didn’t feel like a freak win at all.

Every time SA would try to do something we just kept playing. For me it seemed like I knew we were going to come out on top – it had that feel the entire game.

Did we ever get the word exactly when Joel’s tendon snapped?

I’m positive it snapped when he jumped and then came down on both feet and that’s the reason he fell on his knee. Contrary to Mike Barrett continually saying that he hurt his knee when he fell on it.

But something doesn’t feel right, both Joel and Greg do almost the same thing, and both were from simply jumping. Nothing freakish happened, other than the injury. It’s not like someone fell into their knees in some sort of weird way.

Are they working out to hard???
Is it because we’ve played more games than anybody, and with a ton of back to backs already????

Romance me with that Roy rainbow shot which took flight from way beyond the arc and sailed so high that before it came back down to earth sealing the victory, it kissed the rafters and said "You're mine baby."

I think he dislocated his knee cap

And broke the tendon the way his leg bent all the way back under him.

Joel and Greg have been playing basketball for a long time. They know how to prepare for a game. Bad things just happen to good people.

Missed the game last night… wow.

Bayless is rad.

Long term though, we can’t fully utilize five players who demand high usage on offense.

and i think we can win games that way… but putting four players who demand the ball a lot doesn’t fully utilize their skill sets. I think we’d be more effective with a low-usage, defensive player next to Greg in the frontcourt.

I do not mean to take away from last night’s win at all… but seeing Bayless play like this… I wonder if LaMarcus will get enough shots to feed his game. It seems that his defense and rebounding rise as he is more involved offensively.

LA had 22-8 last night.

he looked good on the boards. there was more than one ball he tipped out to another Blazer also. I think he can get his points. We’ll have a better idea when Roy is back though.

Greg is one of the most effective offensive players in the league. Give him the ball less to make LMA happy with 16 foot jumpers and a 52 TS%?
