Simmons suggests that Blazers acquire Camby
This short term rental is better than tanking. Please KP, I just got a DVR! Keep Broys competitive fire nourished with a tank-free season.

kinda cool trade but why give away Victor too ?
i think that could be too much unless they give us 2mil along with camby
How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.
I'll Say it now so you guys can know I'm a true follower: "In Pioli I Trust"
Go Chiefs!!!!!
That is pretty much a fair trade for both teams.
The Blazers don’t even need Claver next season, but they very well might need Camby if Joel or Oden is still hurt.

You are ahead of your time!
Anyhow, I have no idea if KP will even do a trade. He does seem rather gun-shy after lots of early activity as a GM … Wonder if the recent personnelocolypse (combined with half the league losing serious money) makes him more comfortable with putting together a trade.

This quote of yours seems especially wise
Maybe i see the vision of a Roy, Bayless backcourt in too rosey a light but i allways have thought that was our future until this year. My whole point was to jettison two players who are killing us and replacing them with our future at PG and a rent-a-center fill in for this year and possabley(if he resigns) next year depending on Odens injury and Pryz’s contract.

KP tends to be more active on draft day
he likes to “let the cake bake” during the season…but this year may be the exception, due to circumstances beyond his control
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Can't we give them that Petteri Koponen guy instead.
LOL. Our expectations for what we can get in return for Blake and Outlaw seems to be falling each day. I don’t think we should trade away the rights to Claver. We might need a center, but we can’t bleed desperation. Have we tried tricking memphis into trading us the other Gasol?

Then we would know who'd be injured next!
Hopefully Batum will turn into a more stable version of Camby in a few months!
Explain how Batums morphs into Camby please?
Batum 6’ 8" SF who can pop the open three, is learning how to drive to the bucket consistently and is years ahead of his time defensively.
Camby 6’ 11" C/PF Limited offensive game, great rebounder and shot blocker and his defense is still pretty good for his age.
Im confused, how does Nic become Camby again? Help me understand.

Batum is a large 6' 8"
He has Camby’s atheleticism, but not his tenacity around the hoop. I’’d love to see Batum get more aggressive around the basket on the defensive end.
I guess I’ve always looked at Camby as a superb defender who can score — and not the reverse. That’s how I’m looking at Batum become Camby.
You’re right, though, that they’re physically not alike. Batum will not become a Center — but he will hopefully not be as injured as Camby is.
why not just sign Camby next summer as a free agent?
seriously, no sense giving up a prospect like Claver or a draft pick now. Just roll with Howard/Pendy/LMA at center. If it looks like Joel isn’t going to be back until midseason next year (likely), then go out and sign a center in the summer.
in addition to Camby, there are a handful of other centers available next summer. No all stars or anything, but proven commodities.
How did you guys win that?

Because none of those guys is a real center
As things looks now we may make the playoffs (!) with our depleted roster. 6 extra quality fouls and some boards/d would be really helpful then (when the game starts to grind). In theory, we have both of our true centers back by next year … in theory, they will play most/all of next season. In theory, we just need to hang on until then. In theory.

guess it's a difference of opinion then
i’d rather make (and play in) the playoffs with our current roster than to give away draft picks and good prospects for a 1/2 year rental center. Camby doesn’t guarantee us a spot in the 2nd round, so it’s a high risk move to me.
Now, if you can get him for Outlaw and Blake, then I’m game.
