oh man, christmass came early this year
were just so lucky to have all these guys missing games, thank you lord thank you….
Odenized
Hope everything's okay.
We can’t afford to lose anyone else. Especially not Roy. That said, if something’s wrong, shut it down and get it right. This is the time to do it.

There is no way Roy can be injured
It’s not physically possible. I know misery loves company and all, but at some point enough is enough.

I mentioned that he was being manhandled, with no call...
…and then he’s holding his arm. Great.

There was one play near the end of the game where he was in the lane and his arm got yanked
First he was mad about no call, but that’s just daily life for Brandon. Then, on the Dallas feed, you could see him clutching his shoulder and then trying to suck it up and defend a guy. Then when he got the ball he only used his right hand after that and his left arm seemed to hang uselessly. It looked bad.
He'll be fine
An MRI is standard for any injury at all.
If he can finish with his left tomorrow, he’s good.
BR takes worse hits than that all the time.

Ok...
somebody’s gotta go and relieve Phil Jackson of his Blazers voodoo dolls.
Oooh, Katy bar the door!
I thought Darius Miles had the voodoo dolls.

On the plus side, Pendergraph looked pretty good.
Hopefully Patty Mills can come back soon and give us something.
another point guard?

Wait. The article says the MRI will happen on Thursday
“He planned to take some anti-inflammatory medication to help his shoulder in the short-term and expects to undergo a magnetic resonance imagining when the team returns to Portland on Thursday. "
Did something change or did Ben get the days of the week wrong?
He'll play
This is nothing to BR.

Yeah, you have to think he'll play despite the shoulder.
The question is, do you want him to do that and run the risk of a more serious injury?
As I said
If he can finish with his left, we’ll know he’s fine.

how so? Batum played all summer on a torn labrum and played well.

Batum was hit a lot harder
Than that. Brandon is smart enough to know that if he really is hurt, he can get surgery in the off-season and be fine for next season (since he doesn’t play internationally thank god).

Batum’s injury seemed pretty minor when it happened. Looked like a slight hyperextension.

We'll see over time
The good news is that after Friday we have a relatively easy stretch where he may be able to play less at least before the Faker game.

Since they're in San Antonio
Nate should be like Poppovich and rest his starters (except for Miller and Webster)
Roy and LMA have earned a night off, and Howard will be too pooped to (pick and) pop
Losing to the Spurs by 40 still only counts as one L. A 2-2 road trip under this kind of adversity would be a tremendous accomplishment. The odds of coming home 3-1 are infinitesimal at this point
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
sure
Miller, Bayless, Webster, Tolliver, Pendergraph
backed up by
Blake and Cunningham…and a few minutes of Howard
piece of cake

It was only a matter time with the minutes Roy has been playing....
LA is next.

KP needs to rein Nate in, re: PT
put a 35 min max on Roy and LMA, unless the game goes into OT
and further “ease up” on their minutes re: back-to-back nights
discretion is advised, for the rest of this season

Normally I always praise KP,
but right now he needs a reality check on his obsession with pg’s.
4 plus Roy does nothing to help solve this situation now.
Imo, picking Oden will never be KP’s mistake, signing Mills to 15th spot will be what brings him back to mere mortal standard. Even if it was actually Mr Allens decision.
Almost 24 hours later, still sick to my stomach that the people who get paid the big $ to make these decisions didn’t realize we have always been one Pryz injury away from where we are now, since signing Oden.
Last rant, then I’m taking a break from the Blazers …..
Roys shoulder was bound to get hurt from always having to carry this team.
I will never like LA at center. He DOESN"T rebound enough.
Let Cunningham and Bayless play the rest of the season so they have experience next year when we have a season to look forward to.
Go Blazers !!!!

If the MRI isn't until Thursday, I doubt they will let him play.
Maybe I’m wrong, but it would seem strange to let your franchise player play with an injury that you believe is going to require an MRI the following day.
If he makes a miracle recovery, then maybe he plays and they cancel the MRI. Otherwise, I’d suspect he is out tomorrow.
An MRI is SOP
For ANY injury. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
whether it is a big injury or not, Brandon was in huge, huge pain tonight. Huge pain for an NBA player that plays through a lot of injury. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a somewhat substantial sprain.

Or it means they don't think its that bad
I’m sure someone in San Antonio could do an MRI tomorrow if they wanted one.

This
isnt going to keep brandon out for long. He’s used to playing hurt but if i was the coaching staff i’d just sit him tomorrow no matter what.

This will be Patty Mills' chance to shine
And then everyone can see what he’s all about.
Mills will be the new starting center.

After the Joel injury
I was calling for Rex to start at the 5. He’s got crazy hops, so he could get some boards.
Still on the Rex bandwagon.

He could
And Martell even more so (as mentioned below) – great hops.

Can we have all our injured guys visit the Suns for a few weeks?
Our training staff seems to accomplish the very opposite of whatever theirs are doing over in PHX.

why wait until they get back to pdx?
does this team really find it that hard to get access to an mri in all of san antonio?
I do think that Paul Allen
Might want to have a frank discussion with Jensen and Co. ASAP.
That being said, its hard to blame Pryz or Oden’s injuries on them. Both freak incidents.

Not Joel
No. No. No this season is lost
regroup and try again next year

Holy crap.
Ok, I just saw the Przybilla thing, then this.
This is beyond ridiculous. Not quite sure what to say.
Have you guys been keeping up with the D league? Enjoy the holidays? Get well soon?
OK OK I'm sorry I've been complaining about the coach! Can we just get our players back now, please?
Maybe we can forfeit the rest of the season, work on rehab and pick and roll plays in practice and then get the #1 pick…
Keep starting Miller.
John Wall?!?
Possible silver linings to this season:
1. LA is going to have to learn to be more of a post player.
2. Our wings will have to learn to rebound better.
3. There will be plenty of minutes for Bayless and our young guys to develop.
4. Our team will be a lot tougher after facing so much adversity.
5. The team is going to have to use more offensive schemes, ala Houston.
6. We probably have too many wins already, but we might get a decent draft pick.
"...it was like he brought his own personal cross-wind to the arena." - Dave
The Blazers have already won more games than some of the lottery teams will win all season
John Wall will not be a Blazer

Can you just sit Brandon out for the San Antonio game...
with the way things are going I don’t think you want to take any chances.
Maybe we can get some more calls this year.
We just can’t afford to be mauled this year. We are as fragile as fine China.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
