Robin Lopez Anyone?
Yeah, that is right. Robin Lopez, not Brooke Lopez. Robin plays for the Suns. He can't shoot like his brother but he can rebound and block shots at the same level, if not better. I do not know how he is now but in college he was much more aggressive and nasty than Brooke, and played better defense than his brother. He seems to be stuck in a fast-paced system that does not fit his skills, therefore he does not get much playing time. Robin would not be the key to a championship, most likely, but is a seven footer who takes up a lot of space. He would be a fan favorite with his crazy hair and hard-nose play. My hunch is that he could be taken at a price we could afford. Am I wrong?

That is much too steep a price.
Lopez hardly plays for the Suns. I was thinking giving them our first rounder and throwing in Blake or something.
I'd do that in a second
But I don’t think Phoenix would. My guess is they’re bringing him back slow from injury, rather than souring on him. I actually think he’ll have a Pryz like career, with a better offensive ceiling. I think he’s a solid 5 man for the next decade, health permitting. Definitely worth a phone call
Always supporting Greg Oden.

the Blazers need "another" Przy
unfortunately, there aren’t a whole lot of them out there
FWIW, Joel didn’t look like he was going to be worth much when John Nash signed him, so you never know…

I've always been a believer in the late developing big man
Pryz was tagged as a lottery bust (9th pick overall) after his first few seasons. I think Lopez has a chance to develop into a similar player – but after watching a ton of his games at Stanford/some of his rookie year, I think he may be a bit more of a threat offensively. He actually has a solid baby hook in close, and his hands are decent. If Portland could pick him up from Phoenix at a decent price (and given the dearth of big men in the league, if I were Phoenix I would open bargaining with Rudy and see if KP blinked) it would be a huge coup. As much as I believe in GO, Portland will always need a solid, physical backup behind him, because LMA will never be a defensive force (just not his game). Robin Lopez would be an awesome addition.
Always supporting Greg Oden.

I wouldn't give Phoenix any young players
but with Barbosa out they might have some use for Miller or Blake, especially because it looks like they’re going to be contenders again this year.
The problem is, outside of Barbosa and Hill, the Suns don’t have any salaries that match-up well with Blake, much less Miller. They’ve got a lot of guys earning either less than 2 mil or over 13 mil! So it’s hard to see a “match” for a Lopez deal, unless they were to put together a package of 2-3 guys like Goran Dragic, Earl Clark, Jared Dudley, Jarron Collins, Alando Tucker and/or Louis Amundson to go along wih Lopez

he isnt getting too much PT over there
he cant be that spendy
bayless leaves over my dead body
Start Bayless (in a 2 guard lineup)
if you should strike Oden down he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine

Can someone give a rational explanation of why blake plays 36 minutes a game?
Carrot top's hair made me hate him.
In Bayless I trust.

DO THIS NOW!
We need a big man desperately. We have PG’s to spare. If we want to salvage this season and compete, we need another big man. I like Lopez. He’s young, and will get a ton of playing time with our current roster…..diamond in the rough?
I dunno if Lopez would like it...
who would he talk to about living in his brothers shadow if he left Taylor? We would have to take Taylor Griffen in the deal too.

I'd be all for it if we could get him for non-essential pieces.
Maybe Blake and Outlaw would do it whilst taking back a bad contract. The suns do love to save money.
Oden fan for life
who is the bad contract?
cuz Blake + Outlaw for Loco Lopez is a horrible trade based on talent alone.

the Suns don't have any "bad" contracts
unless you count Richardson, who has 2 years 27 mil left…but Jason is the last thing the Blazers need
Phoenix’ only motivation to deal Lopez to Portland would be to “poach” Bayless, Rudy or Batum, and that’s exactly the kind of deal that KP can’t afford to make, right now
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
maybe KP could deal Miller and change for Barbosa and Lopez
but I wouldn’t go there, Leandro just adds more depth where it isn’t needed

Why would the Suns want Miller?
Nash is playing out of his mind and Goran Dragic is just finally starting to figure this NBA thing. Adding Miller would just stunt the development of the future PG of the team.

only if Nash went down
then the Suns would come calling for Andre

id take him unless we give up to much.
Momma.....der go dat man
everyone knows the blazers are desperate for a center
phoenix won’t give away lopez. they’ll expect something valuable in return. i’d suspect they’d want either rudy or batum. bayless doesn’t really fit their style of play so i can’t see him being attractive to them.
i’m not sure this is worth it for a season that’s on balance a throw-away anyway. why trade decent players to scrape into the playoffs and get crushed.
I wouldn't trade away our 1st round pick
for Robin Lopez cause we might be in the Lottery and Robin is not good enough to warant that. We might have to look into Eddy Curry’s health. The Knicks want to get rid of his contract and we need a Center badly. A match made in heaven? Not really but this gives us a shot at David Lee maybe even Gallinari. Man I love that Italian guy! Will the numbers work?
no
Curry makes 10+ mil, to get just him would cost Miller and Outlaw
and Eddie’s a slug who isn’t worth it
Like I said in the other thread, if NY will take Blake and Outlaw’s expiring contracts for Lee (to increase their capspace heading into the Lebron derby, next July) then by all means pull the trigger. But KP needs to hold onto all of his young talent now, because the team’s “window” just shifted a few years into the future

Knicks would trade Curry for expiring contracts only (Blake + Outlaw) -- but the Blazers would be stuck with his rotten contract.

We could just buy-out Curry's contract
and he won’t even have to fly out West. Its not like we need the cap space.
This Robin Lopez?

Wrong Lopez
You already have a player that outplayed Robin every time they played in college in Jeff.

![Extra, extra, read all about it: Steve Nash had an epiphany during off-season, announces immediate retirement to start new career as a mean hockey player for the Phoenix RoadRunners. "I realized I always admired Wayne Gretzky growing up. Hey, I'm Canadian. Larry O'Brien Trophy? Phew. Why should I care about winning an NBA title when I can win a Stanley Cup in like five years?"
Terry Porter in an initial reaction: Of course we were shocked when we saw Steve come in today in a hockey jersey to announce his decision. The Big Cactus was sobbing. It will be tough, but we will get over it. He is such a great human being who has done so much for this ball club that it would be cruel to stop him from fulfilling his childhood dream. I'm confident Goran Dragic can start just as well for us. [Pausing] You don't happen to have Marbury's number? Or maybe Tinsley's? Can somebody please stop that whiner Kerr from screaming 'I knew it, we are toast'?
In other news, Boris Diaw now looks, uhm, different.
