Here's how this used to work.
After this play, the defensive team would go to the ref and say “That’s not a flagrant foul”
Then on the next offensive possession, they would just destroy a player going to the hoop, knock him into the second row.
Then they’d go to the ref again and say “THAT was a flagrant foul.”
Simmons has a story about that from a Celtics player I can't remember right now, basically punching his guy in the face and yelling "that was a foul" to the ref
He allegedly also managed to make a ref forget to call a foul by just staring angrily at him

Yes. It was a classic referee momentum moment.
Like when a team makes a small run and suddenly the same pick all game is now considered an offensive foul.

if we lose here, it was indeed the run after the flagrant foul that did it. I mostly blame Roy for settling for bad shots.

yeah, it seemed like in the 4th qtr.
there was no tension between miller and roy for running the point. Roy obviously took over, but there were a few possessions where miller brought it up, because roy gave it to him before they passed midcourt. I like what I saw, they seemed to work together… maybe chemistry is finally starting to gel

yeah, he was able to make some plays. that split of the double team and assist to LMA was encouraging.
He’s shown enough to deserve 20 mpg even when he struggles. He’s worth developing.

that last couple of sequences with miller and roy define what we mean by getting a guy who can take the pressure off of roy
the league hasnt seen that yet. Hopefully bayless will do that in the future……….forget blake in the new year.
Just saw the end of the game. Roy was teriffic ! Welcome back.
Maybe the team is getting it’s “sea legs” back after the emotional setback of loosing Greg, along with all the other injuries taking out a virtual starting lineup from the team. The wounded animal has plenty of fight left, and is showing some effective adaptation to the current lineup reality. We’ve got such a great team, they may not be all they will be, but they still aren’t bad. And all we really want to see is them come together and play to the best of their potential. That won’t be dull, and probably competitive.

I still think Webster is way too streaky. How can a guy with a jumper that looks that good miss so many good looks at 3's?
I mean even when a guy is on him he elevates so high on his jump shot it should go in.
Great win. Finally a grind it out win for Portland. I meant the Suns game was nice, but this was better.
