well
he did pick Mario’s pocket a few times, and after two steals Chalmers was noticeably flustered by his aggression. But that was the first q. After that Steve Blake the defender went by the wayside, to be replaced by Matador Steve!

And he gave the second steal right back with that nifty behind the back pass.
Steve is allergic to finishing at the rim.
If he'd tried to finish
Wade would have been on the NBA’s Top Ten with the block.

Probably.
Wade had position, and it would have been a tough fast break for Steve to finish. Still, I would have given him tons of credit for trying since he rarely does. That’s probably not the most intelligent or practical way to look at it. But it is how I feel.
Wow. Did he watch the game? As stated above, he did get two back to back steals, but other than that he just got torched.
I'm sure he's a busy guy
he probably figured he’d seen all that needed to be seen in the first quarter….

Blake for Jones?
his contract isn’t fully guaranteed the next two years, would make a decent band-aid and is a great guy (supposedly)…
Miller/Bayless
Roy/Fernandez
Webster/Jones
Aldridge/Cunningham
Oden/Pryzbilla
I think that’s a better defensive and more balanced team.
james jones ftw
bayless leaves over my dead body
Start Andre (in a 2 guard lineup)

Actually he has been worse pretty much across the board
To summarize it to just one number: PER last year 14.49, projected was 13.32 by Hollinger, really he has 10.34 so far. Defensively he’s about on the same level. At least I couldn’t argue for a big jump in either way.
As Dave says, there can be had a long discussion about what he brings to the team (her certainly tries hard) now and in the future, and what he prevents on the other end. And that discussion has to be led at some time within the organization.

I think he was going by effort
If you go by effort, the Blazers best defenders are Oden, Przy, Blake, and Rudy.
Start Andre Miller NOW to showcase him for a trade.
If you're going just on effort then I'm pretty sure Bayless wins.

I don't think so
He does too much. It’s like moving a couch where you’re trying to just hold up your side and Bayless is lifting it over his head.
Start Andre Miller NOW to showcase him for a trade.
Thats great Steve Blake......
Now hopefully other teams can see how good Steve has become of a defender, now we can trade his !!!!! and let Miller and Bayless play… Who cares about effort, when you’re down by 20 points in the first 5 min of the game…. Are big man stay in foul trouble because the other teams PGs stay getting to the paint, unlike Blake who comes down and gives the ball to Roy and goes and stands next to the cheerleaders while the 24 second clock is running down… The only time their big man gets into foul trouble is when Miller or Bayless is at point and drawing fouls….
