the perfect trade....almost
Just ran it through the old trade machine and It works.
Golden stat trades: Randolph/ maggete
Portland trades: Webster/ Blake/ Cunningham
Portland would have to take on Maggette's 4 yr 8mill contract, but he is a legit 3 that can rebound, defend and score and he has never had a chance to win so maybe he earns it.
Golden state saves some cash and gets two more shooters to fire at will, plus a prospect in cunningham.
I have no doubt GS would do this. Would you? I would. We give up almost nothing and get some serious needs met. My only hangup is maggette's contract, but the dude does produce and he is relatively young. love it or hate it? Fire at will!

I'm very high on Cunningham
But Randolph is worth giving him up for. On the other hand I despise Maggette very, very much.
You have no doubt Golden State does this?
The only thing that is even slightly appealing for them is getting rid of one bad contract. No way they do this. The two best players in that trade would both be coming from Golden State.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!

they also rid themselves of a big contract
and get two players that would take off in their system.
yeah, but they'll get better offers than this (a lot better)
Randolph has enormous potential and Maggette (while carrying a large contract) is decent contributor with a nice PER. If they’re shopping a Maggette/Randolph package, they’ll almost surely get better offers than Webster/Blake/Cunningham. And if they don’t, they’ll probably sit tight. My guess is that the only guys they’d really be interested in from the Blazer are Przybilla and Batum, but we won’t deal them.

I don't know
I feel like all the losing teams in the league are more interested in cutting salary than returning talent.
Why is Maggette so ripped?
Just a simple question.
hmm...from working out so much? I think LeBron has been ripped since H.S. not so sure
about DH. I’m thinking there may be enhancements in his life….but that is complete conjecture on my part. Ok..it’s also from looking at his college body….no where NEAR the same size. I think I’ve heard Magette is kind of a jerk. This goes along with steroid use..or it can..depending on how much is used.
try this
andre miller+webster for anthony randolph and maggette works
getting warmer, but why would they want miller when they have monta and an overage of PGs? I think they want more bigs..which we don't have unless you're trading Przy.
Przy would probably fit in pretty well there though-GSW scores in bunches and przy doesn’t need the rock to be effective.
Please, for the love of all that is holy, please stop using the following: "Book it.", "FTW", "Epic" & "Fail".
...no seriously--stop.
exactly
They’d want Przy and/or Batum. Everyone else they’ve already got their own version of.

I would say none of their PGs are actual PGs, but undersized 2s.
A big like Joel would make more sense, if this was a normal team. However, GS is not a normal team and loves guards and swing players more than anyway.
52 + 88 = 140% better team.
Well, I'm feeling ripped off
I made a Maggette-Turiaf-Morrow for Miller-Outlaw-Pendergraph proposal the other day and got no love whatsoever
(BTW, Maggette is set to make 40 mil in the next 4 years, with no “team options” He’ll be 34 at the end of that deal)
I’d like to get Ronny to back-up Joel without giving up too much (Travis + Pendergraph?) but I’m not sure I want to see Batum playing “behind” Corey for the next 3 years…
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
A thousand times YES
to Travis + Pendergraph for Turiaff. Maggette and Morrow don’t mean much.
No... a thousand times no
I actually like Maggette and wouldn’t mind having him on the team, but Zach ruined the Randolph name for me forever, so no I could never make this trade.
:P
Go Beavs, beat the *ucks!
Trade Proposal
Andre Miller to Indiana for Jeff Foster and 1st round pick (top 10 protected)
Draft Cole Aldrich 2010
???
Randolph is a good defender and has the potential to be an all-time great one. He’s got unreal wingspan and athletic ability. That’s why everyone is so high on him.

Randolph is a good shot-blocker and steals guy
But he gets bodied, and has not a clue how to play position D.

I could go either way
I like Randolph’s potential, the guy gets crazy stats in summer camp. Maggette is an aggresive scorer too but he has a bad contract . If it means getting rid off Blake, count me in. It would be bad to lose Webster but getting rid off Steve is a priority.
I like this trade. Already posted this in YET ANOTHER TRADE POST. TRADE DRAWER PEOPLE!!! TRADE DRAWER!
Portland gets Emeka Okafor and Devean George ( from Golden State ), while sending out Outlaw and Miller.
New Orleans gets Ronny Turiaf and Outlaw, while sending out Okafor. ( and our extra second round pick this year, and first round pick next year )
Golden State gets Andre Miller while sending out Turiaf.
Portland does this trade to strengthen our front court with Okafor, get more points in the paint, and more insurance in case of another Oden injury. George was added just to make salaries match. Yeah it would hurt to trade Miller ( especially so soon ), but this is a chance to get a quality big, and he would be locked up for 5 years at 10 miilion / yr, a pretty good salary for someone who averages 11 and 10, and 2 blks.
New Orleans does this trade to get rid of Okafors contract, as they have been shopping him this season ( according to multiple NBA rumors sites ). They are WAY over the cap and struggling financially. They need to cut salary, especially while their record is less than stellar. They get a decent young big in Turiaf, an expiring contract, and draft picks. Not too terrible.
Golden State does it to get Andre Miller, who would more than likely flourish under a true run and gun system like Golden State, and it would free up more minutes for their other young up-and-coming big Anthony Randolph.

If we want Okafor then wouldn't it make more sense
to trade Pryzbilla as well? Pryzbilla and Outlaw for Okafor and Wright. And then maybe Roy for Paul, that we we get to start Rudy and more importantly we get a PG. Just a thought……………………………………………………………..I think its worth thinking about.
Mr. Sass, no way Golden state does this trade. No...freaking...way.
They are trading away their most efficient scorer, basically their Brandon Roy, and their most promising big man prospect, for a draft bust in Webster who has yet to live up to his potential, a mediocre back-up PG and a prospect player in Pendergraph.
I think you are severely underestimating just how effective Magette can be. He is an absolute nightmare. He draws fouls at such a high rate, and gets you the GOOD kind of points. Points in the paint, at the charity stripe, and the occasional open jumper. It would take more to get him than what you are suggesting. We would have to include at least a player like Batum or Rudy to get a PROVEN player like Magette.

this is why I posted
A sure way to snag Randolph, then, would be taking Maggette in the same deal. That’s clearly the Warriors’ hope espn.com
also, I’m new. How do i, or what is the trade drawer?
just because
…Golden State wants to package Randolph with Maggette doesn’t mean they’ll trade that package for spare parts. They would rightfully think they should be getting an all-star or near-all-star level guy for that package.
www.ripcitydispatch.com
They don't want an all-star
they want to save money and develope their young core.
A while ago we tried to instigate a rule that trade discussions should go in one post entitled the "Trade Drawer," much like the daily "junk drawer you see every day.
Without people posting all their trade ideas in one post when trade discussions are sexy, the sidebar tends to get cluttered with nothing but ideas about trades. So the next time you want to post about a trade, look for a “Trade Drawer” to post it in, and if there isn’t one, make your trade suggestion and entitle the post “Trade Drawer.” More people will post in your trade drawer too.

let's not talk of trade
this couple of games with only 9 healthy players actually helping the team play solid and together. I don’t know why but they play harder and the ball movement definitely better. Is this because of starting Dre over Blake? most likely!
