Oden Could Be Back This Season
According to Ian Thomsen, Greg told SI.com he "hasn't given up on returning this season." I don't want to get my hopes up, but that would be sweeeeeeet. I understand it's a long shot, but if it did happen, we could potentially be at full strength for the playoffs.

not a chance
the Blazers will let him come back this season. they will play it super cautious and we won’t see him until training camp next year.
You are probably right unless he heals way way better and faster than expected.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
We can rebuild him
Better, faster, stronger…
Blazers win!

Make no mistake about it.
That’s what MUST be done with him before he comes back.
Land Rondo.
"He needs to realize that he can't stop every shot, especially from a smaller and offensively potent player. Get your hands up, make him shoot it over you, but let him shoot every once in a while. They score a little but you stay in the game a lot. And when you stay in the game...smashy smashy!" Dave on Greg Oden

Titanium patellas?
and redo all of his other joints, as well…and make sure his two legs are equal length while you’re at it
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
why go titanium when you can go adamantium
"There are a few teams you have to watch out for in the fourth quarter."
"Yeah, but Portland definitely is not one of them."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters at the end of the third quarter with the Hornets leading 74-59. Portland later ends up winning 97-89.
"They don't mind him shooting that shot at all. Rudy Fernandez is not that great of a 3pt shooter."
-New Orleans Hornets broadcasters right after a Rudy Fernandez missed 3pter. Rudy Fernandez finished the game with three 3pters on six attempts.

why go adamantium when you can create a whole new metal alloy especially for Greg
and call it odenantium?

GO is just keeping himself motivated
by keeping that thought in his mind, and i would do the same thing in his shoes but i just don’t see it happening.
Only if we play til June
I can still hope.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
U really dig Greg's attitude this time around.
That said he is supposed to be non-weight bearing for 2 months. His leg will be the size of his arm from all the atrophy after 2 months, after that it will likely take him 2 more months to get his bad leg up to strength enough to start a more grueling rehab program. I just want him to get in great shape and work on rehabbing a bunch including strengthening of the entire body before he comes back.
Yeah, if there's anything you can take from this
its his attitude. i was a little worried he would be down after working so hard to come back and going down again. thankfully, that is not the case.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
No point in risking it for this season.
We aren’t going to win the championship this year anyway. The organization needs to do the smart thing and make sure he is good and ready for next season, which it looks like they are.
thats not the way to look at it
If you keep saying next year, itll never happen
Wouldn't mind if Bayless was starting. Or at least playing.

If he's 100% healthy I would go for it.
I wouldn’t rush him at all, if the doctors give him the clear and he feels ready to go I would let him start playing. The chances of that happening this season are short, but if he was healthy by the playoffs I would let him play.
"Rudy is not everyday a shooter," Fernandez said. "He's defense. He's passes. He's assists."
100% agreed
If he really is ready, I’d be all for it, but only if he REALLY is ready. I don’t see the Blazers playing him if he’s not.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
It is possible
but it will require sawing of Gregs leg completely and inserting a robotic one in its place

Oden Returns Game 4 of Western Conference Finals
After heroic efforts by Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge lead the 8th seeded Blazers to scrape by the Rockets and Nuggets, Oden returns as the Blazers are down 0-3 to the L*akers and carries the Blazers to a comeback of epic proportions, defeating the L*akers and leading the Blazers to the NBA Finals, forever silencing his doubters…
Then they make a movie about it
With Morgan Freeman playing Greg.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
new nickname for Greg

so the rockets or nuggets would be the 1 seed?
bayless leaves over my dead body
Start Bayless (in a 2 guard lineup)
if you should strike Oden down he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine

Can someone give a rational explanation of why blake plays 36 minutes a game?

Love what his agents are doing
Glad to see they’re going outside the organization to see what’s going on with his body to ensure he isn’t plagued with a career of major injuries.

Poll
We need a poll whether Oden should or should not come back this year or it would be BEdge.

If they find the missing link to his physical alignment problems
and he looks BETTER than BEFORE all of his injuries(except broken hand, that one ya cant fix), then yes, he shoudl come back.
If they just glue him back together, don’t play him, ever.

even if the blazers played in game seven of the nba finals, oden would not play this season. period. good attitude from greg though.
Just don't see him coming back this season from what I've read about patella injuries.
I love that Greg is positive about this, but let’s be real. I just want our guys to play hard.
Oden fan for life
