Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Wendell Maxey wrote up a scouting report on Anthony Tolliver, a D-Leaguer said to be joining the Blazers today and suiting up for the time tonight vs. Phoenix.

Hoopshype originally broke the news that Tolliver will sign with the Blazers today.
http://blogs.hoopshype.com/blogs/sierra/2009/12/17/blazers-to-add-tolliver/

Tolliver is a 6' 9", 240 pound power forward averaging 20.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 43% from three in the d-league.

Good news

He will give joel a much needed rest and perhaps the rest of the guys can once again practice how to do a inlet pass and Tolliver could even score a few points. I am glad that KP didn’t dilly dally around and did this deal quick.

Welcome to Portland Anthony

On game day, I leave the turkey alone because it is some chemicals in that thing. Nate Mcmillian 11/26/09

D-League blog Ridiculous Upside is pretty high on him

They had him ranked at #2 among players likely to get a call-up to the NBA, and attributed him solid shooting and doing the “little things” on defense as well as playing hard.

Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?

A big who can board but stays on the perimeter.

Sounds about right for this team. D’oh.

Apparently he’ll go to the perimeter but isn’t shy about the paint. On the Blazers I think he’ll be paint exclusive.

That's cool.

I think I will make a sign for the guy tonight.

Hopefully he's improved.

He couldn’t do anything for the Spurs last year and they let him go pretty quick, but hopefully he’ll be able to help us.

Is he a small forward or a power forward?

Best player available theory? Seems like to me we are pretty thin at center.

he's a 4/5

He’s only 6’9’’, but he’s a big guy. He can play PF or C.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
