Video: Greg Oden Addresses Fans
Greg Oden has released a video on facebook addressing his fans. In the brief clip, Oden states...
-----------
"Hey everybody, thanks for the support. As you all know, I'm pretty sore right now. But I just want everyone to know that I'm ok. I'm going to get back from this. It's definitely something that I'm not worried about. But it's going to be ok. I'm keeping good spirits. And I've got my family here for good support. So as of now I'm just trying to stay off my leg and not really do too much. But it's feeling better than what it did. Thank you."

Why do these things have to happen to him?
He’s such a nice, likable person. Couldn’t major injuries be reserved for like Kobe and Artest?

I'm liking Artest a lot since he's been taking the pills
What an interesting cat he is. – Elgin

Don't wish injuries on anyone
Bad, bad karma. When you hate a player enough to do that, it’s time to walk away.

We love #52
Now if the Blazers show the video they showed last night of him getting hurt (I wasn’t there but it was forwarded to me), again, I’ll be angry.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I would certainly hope it felt better than it did
If it felt worse, i’d be hugely concerned!!!
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

What a nice guy he is for doing that.
Thanks Greg. We’re pulling for you, whether or not basketball is part of the equation. Good luck big fellow. – Elgin

I've never wanted a guy to succeed in sports more than Oden.
How could you not want a guy like that to succeed?
Greg, you've got more heart than a bag of Valentine's Day candy.
While you’re taking time to heal, Greg, it would benefit you to work on that dentistry career of which you you once had aspirations. I’m not saying this because I lack faith in your recovery or even doubt that you’ll return as a major NBA success, but because it’ll keep your defensive skills polished. You’ll be able to routinely look down at those who come to you and keep them frustrated by staying in their grill.
--
If you encounter any problems in your recovery (heaven forbid), I’m flying to Rip City and giving you my knees. I don’t know how compatible they’ll be (as I’m only 5’9), but you’re more than welcome to them. My occupation doesn’t require blocks, dunks, or boards, so I’ll be fine without them. This story would undoubtedly be the basis of an inspirational book and movie: “My Oden’s Keeper”

Research shows that the taller a man is, the more susceptible he is to a condition called Heart Arrhythmia (Irregular heartbeat). It’s not incredibly common, although we did see L-Train take a little time off due to the aforementioned condition. Now in Oden’s case, the possibility of this becoming a problem normally wouldn’t concern me so much, but there is another factor we must consider. It’s already proven that Greg’s heart itself is irregular. Very much so. The average human heart is about the size of a fist, with professional athletes often possessing one of slightly smaller proportions. Greg’s heart, however, is massive. Day in and day out, Greg provides evidence that his heart is far too big for one man. In fact, through Greg’s humility and benevolent care of his team, organization, and fans, we can clearly see his heart is so big that it’s able to circulate pride throughout the whole Blazer community.
How sad is this?
My first reaction to your post’s title was that cardiomegaly might be the next ailment down the line for Mr. Oden.

Get well soon Greg
You are the key to this team. Can’t wait to see you out there owning the paint again next season!
