Anthony Randolph on the block?
Warriors’ Randolph on block again
For two seasons, the Warriors have had an odd time with Anthony Randolph(notes). Sometimes, they’re in love with his sheer athletic ability in that 7-foot frame and considered him untouchable. As a rookie, they dangled him in deals, too. Well, it’s happening again. Several NBA teams say Golden State officials have offered Randolph in trade discussions, but as one Eastern Conference executive said: "I think all of their roster could be had."
Says one Western official: "The Warriors are willing to do anything and everything."
Randolph is 20 years old and blessed with terrific talent, but his staying power and maturity have frustrated Golden State officials. It appears they’re willing to cash his potential for more mature assets. After destroying the summer league in Vegas, Randolph has averaged 11.1 points in 21.8 minutes per night for the Warriors.
Even with his patriarch, Keith Smart, substituting for an ill Don Nelson, Randolph’s productivity hasn’t improved. Still, he’s so young, so gifted, it’s a move that would come with a great deal of long-term risk.

The guy on the Warriors who is similar that would be even easier to get:
Brandon Wright
Wonder if they would have any interest in Andre Miller? He’d do well in Golden State and they start a shooting guard at the point guard (Curry). I’d like Turiaf as well. Don’t know if Golden State would make him available. If we make a trade, the Warriors seem to be the obvious team
Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, Batum, Outlaw, Webster, Bayless, Blake, Miller, Joel... Holy crap!
Who knows what they would want in return.
It would probably start with Rudy and go from there … I’d love to have him, but I doubt we have the ammo the Dubs are looking for.
they'd be looking for a big
And Portland doesn’t have any spare bigs at the moment.

I'd love Randolph
but is bringing in yet ANOTHER player whose talents are more aptly suited to a faster paced, motion oriented style of offense really make sense at this point? We would just be repeating what we are already doing with guys like Aldridge, Miller, Batum, Webster, Rudy, Bayless, and Outlaw – limiting their production by removing any threat of utilizing some of their best talents.
How did you guys win that?

well, we could,
you know… get faster?
Roy is one player and he’s not bringing the ball up. If the other 4 want to run and let Roy take it in the half court if there isn’t anything to be had, that would work just fine. Call it “7 seconds or Roy.”
As a matter of fact, I think that’s the perfect offense for us, “7 seconds or Roy/Aldridge/Oden”

I've long advocated that approach.
the problem of course, is that your coach has to want (and demand it). And you actually have to gameplan and practice for it. From the outside, it appears neither of those things is happening.
Not saying Nate can’t demand we run, and that we can’t put emphasis on putting it into play through practicing and repetition, but we haven’t seen much evidence that either one of those things is going to happen anytime soon.

as AK1984 will testify
Nate doesn’t “seem” to be a running coach so far. This is true.

culture fit?
Zach…Shavlik…Anthony…let’s not push our luck playing “Randolph roulette”
I’d rather have Turiaf from the GS roster, at least Ronny can bang and help defend the paint when Joel’s not in the game. These days when Przy goes to the bench it’s “Katie bar the door”
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
Hey now...what did Shav ever do?
He was our human victory cigar last year.
52 + 88 = 140% better team.
you notice I said Randolph "roulette"
the chamber came up “blank” re: Shav, but “do you feel lucky” that we won’t get another “bang” with Anthony?
Well, do ya?
