I hope we dominate the THIRD quarter
Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?
if the FOURTH quarter doesn't go any better
I’m gonna need a fifth.

The plural of Bevis is Bevii...

Those two horribel calls on Pryz were killers
Without him in there, suck.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
If I were Nate I woudl absolutely lite into this team
I am honestly angry. Its one thing to lose to a team that is close to your talent level. Its quite another to lose to one that sucks talent-wise but is playing harder.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
Roy might be the best player on the floor.
I don’t think the Kings are outmatched from a talent perspective.
"I'm at the thingamajig talking the yakety-yak" - Kenny Smith
Agreed
I could even go so far as to entertain a Thompson > LMA argument. I think Thompson is a stud, not nearly the skill set on offense as LMA, but defense and rebounding win games
Always supporting Greg Oden.
by blazeraddict on Dec 15, 2009 8:21 PM PST up reply actions
As the rocket's entire team proves, that makes up for a lot
Thompson isn’t an unskilled caveman lumbering around out there, but LMA is definitely more skilled so if they matched effort he should come out on top. But that is one big if.
Your confusing thesis has captured my attention. Tell me more.

I commented on Thompson on being a comparative player to LMA last year.
He has the midrange jumper and is capable of finishing a tough layup in traffic. LMA has the edge of being a much taller and longer player.
"I'm at the thingamajig talking the yakety-yak" - Kenny Smith
Haven't seen much of his mid range game
but I love how he mucks it up

You can only yell in the locker room so many times before players tune it out.
Adelman was famously reserved in the locker room, then one day, after a lackluster half in an important game, he loudly kicked over a metal trash can to the shock of the whole team. They dominated the second half.
It’s all about how often you use the temper. :) I wonder how often Nate does so.
He doesn't seem to get angry often
This team needs SOMEONE to give them a spark.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
I'd say they're pretty equal in talent and playing much harder
Roy may be better than anyone they have, but Evans exploits his matchup better, like most teams against the blazers. If they want to make the playoffs the blazers only hope is to work harder and they don’t seem to know how consistently.

Exectution and energy are the issue
They are just standing around, waiting for someone else to make a play.
WHERE IS THE HEART WE SAW IN MILWAUKEE?

“That’s right, we bad!”
When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
They gave that lip service this summer
and here we are
Chad Ford on Oden, "He's definitely a defensive force... I don't think he'll ever put up the big numbers that Shaq did. But he could be the best big man defender in the league... frankly, having a 7 footer that can do that will produce more rings than a 6-11 small forward who can score 30 ppg. That was the thinking all along why GMs preferred Oden to Durant. KD is the sexier player and as an offensive player there is just no comparison. KD is great. Oden is aspiring to average. But defensively, Oden could be dominant. KD ... not so much."
Could have said it better myself. Thanks Mr. Ford!
I think I've heard that record before after the loss to the Rockets...

On a 1-10 scale, how disappointed are you with the way the season has played out (10 being the most disappointed)?
9 for me
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
that lessens it a little, but the effort and coaching has still been bad
even with all the players missing we still have mismatches that aren’t being exploited and the team’s effort has been discussed a tiny bit

I don't know
I really don’t. Oden hurt far more than I thought it would.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
The only reason I didn't say 10 was I liked what Oden was doing prior to getting hurt
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
I am more disappointed in the coaching staff than the injuries.
Injuries happen and can’t be prevented or predicted. Bad coaching? Not so much….
Start Miller.
by RenoBlazerFan on Dec 15, 2009 8:22 PM PST up reply actions
I’m disappointed at the coaching too but the players have to play. Nate should play Bayless more, everyone agrees with that, and the substituting is ridiculous at some points but the team has to step up. Roy and Aldridge are supposed to be our two best players and they are still both healthy so we still should be winning.
True, but I think Nate's inane substitutions and 40-minute Blake games
have had an effect on team morale. I agree that LMA and Broy have been pretty dismal so far.
Start Miller.

Full 10 easy
The Oden injury put me over the top, Couldn’t be more down. Our best hope for something useful coming out of this year is playing a young guy at pg more and hoping one of our 2nd round picks turns out to be a decent player. It sucks
Chad Ford on Oden, "He's definitely a defensive force... I don't think he'll ever put up the big numbers that Shaq did. I don’t know how it could be anything else. This season, even by reasonably tempered expectations, has been a disaster so far.

7
3 for coaching
2 for injuries.
1 for struggles winning in general
1 for media sucking even more than last year
damn
blake: 11mins, 0-2FG, 0-2 from three, 0pts, 0rebs, 0 asts
miller: 17mins, 1-4FG, 0-1 from three, 2pts, 2rebs, 1ast
not gonna win many games with that kind of production from two of guys with major minutes.
So you can see what a team that scraps for loose balls and scores in the paint looks like?

Regardless of whether we win this game
How long do the lackluster performances need to continue before we get the first national story that involves the word “Nate” and the phrase “hot seat”?
One month? Or until we’re 5 games under .500? (Not that I didn’t say Nate gets fired, just that national media start noting his status)
Way less than a month
Give me an over under on two weeks and I’d take the under. I think we’re going to be on an eight game losing streak by the time the horn sounds against the Nuggets.

Blazers are going to keep losing more than winning.
I predict under .500 by the end of the year. Nate can’t escape that talk even with the injuries.
"I'm at the thingamajig talking the yakety-yak" - Kenny Smith
Injuries are giving him a lot of slack nationally
unless you watch the team a lot you’d just assume their bad play was because of the injuries. I think it’ll take them dropping below .500 for it to get really loud. The problem is that Nate’s biggest effect on the team when they were young was getting them to play hard and now they don’t.

No
just having a decent stretch. Kind of surprising
Thanks Mr. Ford!

And whoever comes off the bench does OK to good?
(Just looking at stats, didn’t catch the game)
Just waiting on some offense....
Miller had very strong stretches at the beginning of the 1st and 3rd to set people up for easy buckets, and scored a few himself
Nate still seems to want one 3 point shooter on the floor to close out games next to Roy, and if Webster isn’t in…

I LOVE tonight's guards rotation!
Miller: 28:46
Blake: 24:30
