I support this sentiment

"In order to keep a true perspective of one's importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him."

Who will be the first guard off the bench?

I have a feeling it’ll be Blake, but with Evans tonight would be a good time to give Bayless more minutes than him.

Your confusing thesis has captured my attention. Tell me more.

Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?

I was worried a bit, though

that he might throw in a monkey wrench, like going back to the 3 guard lineup.

52 + 88 = 140% better team.

Teams always do that better than the blazers

it’s been driving me nuts all season how they do such a bad job of exploiting mismatches. Part of it is Roy and LMA not being assertive and also when you dribble for 14 seconds that only leaves 7 once the pass is made to the guy with the mismatch if they go to him at all.

Whoah there!

We wouldn’t want to be WINNING, now would we? The goal is just to assimilate Andre Miller into the starting lineup, then play Blake so we lose this game. The progression is more natural that way.

If Blake plays 30+ minutes I'm going to throw up.

I’m getting a bucket ready though. Could it be anymore obvious how much better we look on the offense between Miller and Blake. It’s a different team.

Blazers got similar looks from the outside.

Difference is that the King reserves decided to play with effort and Blazers couldn’t cash in on open looks. Miller, Bayless, and Blake all had open looks from the corner 3.

Bayless shouldn't be asked to run the offense or bring the ball up.

Blake is much better than him in those aspects of the game. Bayless should be running off screens and looking to make plays.

by blzrfan on Dec 15, 2009 7:48 PM PST up reply actions

disagree.

Part of running the offense IS using screen and rolls to get the defense switching and confused and then hitting the open man. Blake sitting there just dribbling does nothing for our offense. Nothing.

by prezofdeath on Dec 15, 2009 7:52 PM PST up reply actions

The guy bringing up the ball passes to the playmakers on wing.

That’s how the Blazers offense runs. Blake goes to the corner and Bayless gets to make plays.

Blake brings it up and either passes to Roy or Webster...I'd rather have Rex bring it up and pass to either Roy or Webster

if they’re in together, let B.Rex bring it up and operate, and then when he drives, he can kick it out to Blake for a 3.

How about a player that runs it up the court and makes plays? It’s what a few of us call, doing more with less.

As was I

LMA gets that call with the ball flying to the side or behind him. No different from Sergio.

Just to make it clear, I agree that it’s a dumb call. But it’s consistent.

by Timmay! on Dec 15, 2009 8:13 PM PST up reply actions

Do you not see a difference between a ball that hits the backboard and a ball 3 feet behing the shooter when he throws his arms wildly up over his head?????????

I understand that's the strategy, but when one no longer is attached to the ball, it can no longer be a shooting attempt...

Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?

LMA may be more skilled, but Thompson goes inside, gets more boards and plays better D.
