Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

Apparently a trailblazer came to my sons school today, but he isn't sure which one it was...anyone have any ideas. It is Rose City Marysville (yes, my sons school was the one that burned down recently). Anyway, I was just wondering...

Wouldn't be ironic if it was Steve Blake?

Culture FTW!

I know he isn’t doing well, and that nearly all the people who make comments on Blazers Edge have a caustic hate for him. But I like the guy. I hope he breaks out of his slump and does well, because I want him to do well, and the Blazers to do well.

my real feeling

is Steve should be a bench guy…coming off the bench and draining 3’s once the offense has already been established by miller or bayless. That’s team wise…

as a person I’m sure Steve is a decent enough fellow…or maybe he is actually a cannibal. Who really knows?

my guess on the who came to school

it was probably Juwan or Dante or Pendergraph….can’t imagine it was a starter…

Culture FTW indeed

I don’t know who visited Rose City Marysville, but according to the team website, Blake and Webster hosted a holiday party for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald house today. Say what you will about someone’s shooting percentage, but this kind of stuff is a huge for the people involved. Kudos to Steve, Martell, and the other Blazer players and staff for giving back to the community this way.

I will always root for a player like Steve to break out of a slump. He’s a good guy and he’s trying hard. There’s no need to treat him like a lazy, dope-smokin’, law-breakin’ SOB who beats up nuns. The caustic hate is out of line.

My son would LOVE that

Blake is his favorite player….. I’m not sure why. He’s only 5 years old, though, so I don’t try to decipher a lot of what he says…..

My son only knows Blake

as the guy that daddy is screaming at every night…

My daughter (born in 1987) loved Porter

because he was the shortest one on the team at the time. – Elgin

batum came to my high school last year

bayless leaves over my dead body
Start Bayless (in a 2 guard lineup)
if you should strike Oden down he will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine

Can someone give a rational explanation of why blake plays 36 minutes a game?

by thomasikehara on Dec 14, 2009 6:50 PM PST reply actions

For today only this event was scheduled
Steve Blake and Martell Webster will join the Ronald McDonald House and their families for a holiday party. The event will include an afternoon of hot chocolate, gingerbread houses and other holiday fun.

Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?

If I had a son...

he would know who all the players are :)

My son knows a lot more than names

He probably has the last 15 boxscores memorized.

But can he Goal Seek in Excel?

I get the paper, so I don't care!

well he's 8

Unless it’s a mutant ninja turtle he’s not interested for more than about 5 seconds. brainwash your child however you want…

Regardless if it was oden or brandon or pryz, maybe LMA he would have recognized him, the further down the bench you go the less he’s interested.

My daughter is about that age

and she could definitely ID Greg, LaMarcus, Brandon, Joel, Steve, Andre, Travis, and Dante (she likes the “Inferno” nickname). Not so sure about the others.

She can also ID Dwight Howard, Gilbert Arenas, Deron Williams, and the stupid taxi driver from the annoying commercials on LPBB, as well as Wade and Rose from the ESPN Fantasy Basketball commercial, and CP3 from the milk commercials.

Brainwashing? This is education, man, education!

well

it wasn’t Oden, it wasn’t Outlaw. they didn’t even go to practice. so that narrows it down.

Just ask the kid which part of his body was in a cast

and you’ll have instant identification.

Sad, but funny.

My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
