"J. Quick didn't do anything wrong.. It was an accident and bad communication between both of us" - Bayless via twitter.
He wants to play, he's trying to say the right things, he's going to get more minutes. Let's hope he does good things with them.

I figured that this is how it'd play out, with some people at Blazersedge now owing Jason Quick an apology.
Dear Paul Allen:
Fire Kevin Pritchard & hire Dennis Lindsey.
Fire Nate McMillan & hire Jeff Van Gundy.
Sincerely,
AK1984
Why would anyone owe Quick an apology?
Clearly, he assumed Bayless was talking about Blake and Miller without knowing the actual facts thus the insertion (Miller and Blake) in the article. He should be issuing an apology, if anyone!
Let's do it for the big man!...and Rudy!....and Nic!...and, uh, Trout, Pendy, Patty, Mo, Mr. Allen, and Nate!

Jason Quick properly used a parenthetical quotes — which can't always be taken at face value, ...
as each individual reader must make his or her own judgement regarding the context — thus, he didn’t print anything libelous. So, while Quick seems to have accidentally misinterpreted the meaning of Jerryd Bayless’ comments, he didn’t directly misquote him and doesn’t deserve all this vitriol.

but the implicatin was clear
Rather than letting the readers infer what Jerryd meant by the “those other guys”, Quick “led” us to believe he meant Blake and Miller. Generally, inserting something in parentheses within a direct quote is only done when the author KNOWS what was meant, and is using the parentheses to clarify what is often lost when transcribing a verbal quote to text. If the write doesn’t KNOW what was meant, he shouldn’t be inserting what he thinks was meant into the quote, but rather If the writer feels the need to interject their opinion as to the the meaning of the quote, they should do so in a way that is unambiguously shown to be the writer’s opinion, and not that of the person being quoted.
So, I think it is on Quick. I don’t think he did it intentially. He made an assumption that was wrong. Instead of assuming, he should have asked Jerryd for clarification on who he was talking about.
How did you guys win that?
"We scored enough points. We scored 107, they scored 105.
-Nate McMillan Postgame, 3/4/2009
Yeah, I do agree wholeheartedly with your last paragraph. That sums up what likely occurred.
Dear Paul Allen:
Fire Kevin Pritchard & hire Dennis Lindsey.
Fire Nate McMillan & hire Jeff Van Gundy.

Yes, there is some irony in that.

If Jerryd feels like he needs to tell fans to lay off Jason...
Then I have one thing to say:
Hi Jerryd! Thanks for dropping in! Don’t take us all too, TOO seriously. Lots of BEdgers have a great deal of respect for JQ. Now Conzano… that’s a different matter!
Oh, and you should drop in for a live Q&A like Shavlik did last season. Not to throw any more spitballs at the Oregonian, but we ask WAY more interesting, sophisticated questions here than the folks O-Live hosted on media day. :-D
Why is it so hard for fans to realized that Bayless is a jerk?
He threw two teammates under the bus and he’s covering his tracks. Plain and simple.
