JD 12-12
I am sitting here thinking that I need a new Junk Drawer. I keep refreshing to see if there is a new one up...but no such luck. I am writing one and trying to come up with some sort of topic. I wanted it to be a Christmas theme, but am not sure what to do with it....Xmas songs? Xmas trees?....Santa Claus?. Ok how bout...what is your favorite Holiday tradition?....Trees, Santy, Candy, Movies, Presents....or other? What do you think?

he played 8 minutes after actually doing really well in those minutes. Some in the GDT thread said that he looked visibly angry on the bench. Then, he tweets “no words.” Two hours later, “Still, no words.”

it sucks. This year isn’t going to be a winning title year anyway, so why not play Bayless a bunch and see what happens? So frustrating.

I agree
but for a different reason. I say dont just play him cuz its a lost year in the hopes for a title, i say play him cuz frankly he is better than blake and often better than miller. I dont get why he isnt the perfect companion for Roy. Roy says he wants the ball more.. Great here is a PG who is more than happy to run off screens but can bring it up for 3 quarters.
As an UA guy, im sure I am biased but I am not even a Ra-Ra Rex guy.. I just cant believe that we wouldnt even give the kid a SHOT. patently absurd

one of the biggest problems with this year’s team is actually Steve Blake’s regression. His career year last year was…. a career year. He is down in every category and having one of the worst seasons of his career.
Bayless can’t be worse.

also apparently he must have been making out with with Jarrett Jack
because he somehow caught his sideline disease. At least once a game he steps out of bounds..
Really its frustrating and I wonder why no reporters call Nate on it.. someone man up and say
“Blake hasnt played well this year and yet you refuse to play Bayless. When he does play he plays well, is there some other reason he cant get on the floor?”

Football rant
“Prior to the snap….false start…on the offense” ….I have heard that for years……it annoys the crap outta me for some reason. Mainly the part that bugs me is the “prior to the snap” part….when else would a false start be…..“after the snap??”

That annoys me too, but for a different reason
why do they need to say “on the offense”? A false start is by definition on the offense (otherwise it would be an offsides penalty)
This is true too
both things bug me. I have mentioned before that I don’t like “After further review” either….there is the “view” (the play on the field) and “review” (looking at it in the booth) …..but no “further review”

New Jersey is looking to clear cap space for next summer; therefore, Andre Miller ...
is a no-go for the Nets from that standpoint. That, by the way, doesn’t even consider how Devin Harris > Miller, or that the Nets are presently in full-on rebulding mode.

Andre Miller wouldn't fit in the triangle offense as an off guard at the 1, as ...
he’s a pure point guard. If Miller went to Lakers — which’ll never happen — he would fail similarly to how Gary Payton did when he played for Phil Jackson.

The Big 12 is totally overrated
And as much as the Big 10 gets trashed, look at the Big 12 and how they’ve done. It’s a pass happy conference, and outside of Nebraska, there’s not a whole lot of defense either. I mean did anyone look at Texas’ schedule this year? Nebraska was their toughest game all year. Yet nobody questions it.
If USC or any other Pac 10 team played Texas’ schedule this year and went to the BCS championship game, there would be people would be having a fit in the media.
Hell look at Oklahoma’s recent record in BCS games. Why don’t they get trashed as much as Ohio State , Big 10, and the Pac 10?
2004 BCS Championship Game against LSU – Loss
2005 BCS Championship Game against USC – Loss
2007 BCS Fiesta Bowl against Boise State – Loss
2008 BCS Fiesta Bowl against WVU – Loss
2009 BCS Championship Game against Florida – Loss
And yes Texas did beat USC in the 2006 BCS Championship Game by three points. Yet you listen to Big 12 homers all they seem to remember is that loss or the two losses by Ohio State. And because of these losses, they’re the better conference?
Yet they overlook or forget their own pathetic record in big games or the fact that Oklahoma LOST their Big 12 championship game, and still jumped USC, to play LSU in 2004.
Yuck.

I think everyone consensus IS that USC’s sched is easier than Texas every year.. but this year everyone trashed the Big 12 because last year was an aberration (it was very solid) but this year it hasnt been nearly as bad as it was expected to be. My observations were of this year only

Nope
They should. The Pac-10, I firmly beleive, is better. No Pac-10 team played as weak a non-conference schedule as Florida did for example).

But I do know that the Pac-10’s 7th place team (UCLA) won at Tennessee this year and our 8th place team (Arizona State) fell just short in Georgia.

I am highly disappointed in Disney. I took my 7 and 3 year old neighbor and was SO ashamed for doing so. The excessive use of VooDoo in the movie was ghastly. I am a Christian women who would have NEVER taken any child, or adult for that matter, to a movie that portrays the devil’s work. SHAME ON DISNEY!!!! What happened to the innocent Disney classics. I can handle Disney movies(being they are fairy tales and I have enough discernment to know the difference between right and wrong) with magic in them such as Fairies, Sorcerers, Spell-casters, or Ariel?s god-like father, but this was taken WAY TOO FAR!!!! What’s worse is this movie had every ounce of potential to be a GREAT movie. The Princess and the Frog is full of self-sacrifice, heroism, devotion to hard work and true love. Way to ruin it Disney!!!!!!

If I was a negative person 2009 might have been one of my worst years ever
I still got my dog, my wife, and my job but it seems like many of the folks I cared about either died, got injured, or got cancer. The Lakers are champions, there were also a lot of big breakups, my brother tried to kill himself, and I had a virus that made me stay close to a toilet on my vacation. I think the Civil War and the Blazers making the playoffs last summer were the only good things to happen in 2009. I also got fatter and older.
If I was racist, political, conservative, a Beavers fan, or hated Blake and/or Nate, I don’t know how I could go on.

Being a "negative" person isn't necessarily a characteristic of depression
Resign not thy day gig thou mewling flop-mouthed pumpion

I’m not depressed either. I was basically saying if I was a “woe is me” and wanted to feel sorry for myself, then I had a lot of ammo.

yea I missed the reply to it
I was wondering because you’ve had some life events happen that could trigger depression in anyone. I wasn’t sure of the tone of your comment. I don’t think anybody “wants” to be “woe is me.” Sure some people get attention out of it but I’ve personally struggled with depression and I can assure you it is a chemical imbalance not a choice.
