If you can't say anything nice...

Let others say it for you. Are you kidding me? How did Bayless not get more run in the 2nd half with Blake looking so worthless. PLAY BAYLESS!!!

by 52therim on Dec 12, 2009 4:37 AM PST reply actions

This is beyond pitiful

We ALL know Blake has become a cancer to this team!!! Not in the locker room but for the first time in the history of the blazers as a starter… 8 dimes is nice but really 4 turnovers and no points and we are talking about a guy whose only purpose is to shot a open three! I think Nate and his staff have completely failed ….

How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.

Blake is not a cancer

Perhaps he shouldn’t be playing the minutes he is, but he is not a cancer. He is also not the problem with the team.

Got rookies all over the league ...

getting major run. Maynor’s getting 15 minutes in Utah. Matthews is getting 25. Teague’s getting 10 mins. Collinson’s getting 20. Either the team needs to admit they made the wrong pick and trade him, or give the kid a chance. This is getting ridiculous. You at least have to figure out what you have at some point, and there’s not better time than now.

Collison getting 20 is the most startling

They have Billups starting, JR Smith and lots of talent and a team that’s trying to win a title still find 20 minutes for a rookie. We have 9 healthy guys, would love to make the playoffs but realistically are looking for next season and we can’t play Bayless? I don’t know what to say. If they can’t find minutes for him they don’t want to or aren’t trying hard enough.

Your confusing thesis has captured my attention. Tell me more.

Ah, that was dumb

for a second I mixed up Lawson and Collison. I’ll just delete my post…oh, I can’t! Well, now I look dumb for eternity. Anyways, they should be able to find time for Bayless.

Nate is blowing it

Land Rondo.

"He needs to realize that he can't stop every shot, especially from a smaller and offensively potent player. Get your hands up, make him shoot it over you, but let him shoot every once in a while. They score a little but you stay in the game a lot. And when you stay in the game...smashy smashy!" Dave on Greg Oden

Nate isn't on the road

With such a low point like this I still wouldn’t expect a change until Nate could do it in person

by Decaf on Dec 12, 2009 10:35 AM PST up reply actions

I don't get it at all

Coach D put Jerryd in right at the end of the first half because he KNOWS he will either get a quick bucket or draw a foul. Why not play him more?

I guess I don’t have any words either.

I'm going to come up with the best line here ever, something really clever.

by musicdaniel on Dec 12, 2009 10:25 AM PST reply actions

What's the risk in starting him?

I think he’s made a marked improvement in his passing and finding the open guy which puts him roughly on par w/ Blake in that category. In all other categories he exceeds Blake.

I didn't mean to turn you on

Everybody BUT Nate seems to agree...

that instead of the rotation being:
- Blake, with way too many minutes
- Miller, incredibly, not starting your best player at the position
- Bayless, athletic young dynamic player getting garbage time…

That Miller should start. But I believe Blake should be moved from #1 to #3, leaving the rotation at the 1 looking like this:

- Miller. The man is a proven, solid point guard. Top 10 in the league! Play him!! And let him run the offense when he is in there! Run the fast break! (30)
- Bayless: Keep up the pace with the same kind of attacking point guard. (15)
- Blake: When we need a 3, or when it’s BRoy iso time, or if a) or b) are hurt.. (3). 20 DNP-CD’s a year…

Blake - More PT, Less Tradeable?

I’ve been thinking that Blake was given so much time as a showcase for a trade. If that’s the case, it’s not working.

by lostcauses on Dec 12, 2009 1:17 PM PST reply actions

I'm thinking Nate told his assit to

Go by the orig gameplan I’ll make the changes when I come back…. So that I can see how the rotation works….but he needs to tell bayless something

How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.

I'm not convinced that coaches, you know, actually talk to players. Seriosly. This team

has had more players basically say “I am clueless” in response to questions than any team I’ve ever seen.

Maybe Nate's spending his

recovery time reading this post. Maybe.

Trade Nate Play Bayless!!!!!!!

I am losing confidence in Nate. He just doesnt get it. If I was Bayless I would ask for a trade.

by MercuryPDX on Dec 12, 2009 9:40 PM PST reply actions

I sent this. and the address is http://www.nba.com/blazers/news/contactus.html

Continuing to give Blake huge minutes when he is clearly playing much worse than Miller or Bayless is the largest failure of a coaching staff we have ever seen.

Please make it stop.

Signed, EVERY BLAZER FAN.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
