"After Wounded Knee" in Willamette Week
A couple of gems:
"The best thing we can do for Oden is to stop believing in him."
"Quite simply, he is probably not built to play basketball."
"Release our grip on the illusion Oden is a cornerstone."
The author is basically saying throw all optimism out the door and start looking elsewhere for gratitude...

Whoa.
I have lowered my expectations about Oden becoming the next Bill Russell, but this seems a little extreme. Before he got hurt, he was probably a top 5 center (in just his second year!).
Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy, Batum, Outlaw, Webster, Bayless, Blake, Miller, Joel... Holy crap!
He's a movie reporter
But apparently he’s the WW’s chosen sports guy. Whatever.
"Good evening Blazer fans, wherever you may be!"-Bill Schonely
This guy's qualifications for writing the story:
1. He’s a film critic.
2. He was at the game where Oden got injured.
Thanks for your input, Mr. Mesh.
Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

at least willamette week gave us the 'trail mix' story
a few weeks ago, so you would know where in Portland to hang out with hipsters and drink $2 Pabst during Blazers games. oh wait, that’s everywhere in Portland!

Stop believing in Oden? And spend our time doing what? Stupid comment to make. Greg is going to
be fine. This injury is pretty bad, but he will bounce back.
