travis traders?

What is wrong with Portland? i'll tell you. travis outlaw. yes, travis outlaw and the fact that he is not playing. someone needs to be able to get a shot up. a shot. for those of you who rail - trade travis, trade travis - quite possibly that needs rethinking if there was thinking done at all. rudy? not quite. Marty? no. Dante Cunningham? looked good a couple games ago. Brandon? what happened to Brandon? He needs to play a little more defense. And Steve Blake. Where are all the Blake lovers now? Is Nate the only Blake lover left?

My question is - if Portland waived Steve Blake tomorrow would any other team pick him up? I think not.

Good question

What did happen to Brandon?

Mark my words... Dante Cunningham will be an all star

god forbid

god forbid we play bayless more than 3 minutes..i don’t think lamarcus would’ve made an oz. of difference in this game considering what his replacements did..

A bunch of teams would.

The Thunder could use him, both their backups are injured. The 76’ers could use him. They desperately need more three point shooters and Louis Williams is out with a broken Jaw. The Bobcats could use another PG. The Magic always need a healthy PG and probably can’t keep playing Jason Williams so many minutes.

Blake + filler for Collison please

Chad Ford on Oden, "He's definitely a defensive force... I don't think he'll ever put up the big numbers that Shaq did. But he could be the best big man defender in the league... frankly, having a 7 footer that can do that will produce more rings than a 6-11 small forward who can score 30 ppg. That was the thinking all along why GMs preferred Oden to Durant. KD is the sexier player and as an offensive player there is just no comparison. KD is great. Oden is aspiring to average. But defensively, Oden could be dominant. KD ... not so much."

Could have said it better myself. Thanks Mr. Ford!

1st of all, we have a lot bigger problems right now than travis not playing.

if any player not playing is a problem 4 us it would be Batum aka ‘the only player besides Bayless who knows how to play perimeter d’/our 2nd best overall defender. I’’ve wanted us 2 trade Outlaw for awhile now and it is plausible this season since he is a free agent at the end of the season (we need 2 get something for him) and Cunningham could easily take his place. We could also pull in a lot for Outlaw in a trade despite his injury, because teams already know what he can do (and they don’t see him enough to get the headache he often times gives us).
P.S. to the Blazers: don’t leave JAMES JONES & QUENTIN RICHARDSON aka notorious 3 pt shooters WIDE-OPEN from behind the line!

Yes, many teams would. He would be a great backup for anyone. its just that nate cant see that he would be a great BACKUP for us.

Outlaw would fix giving up 50+FG% every game?

I didn’t realize he had such fantastic on the ball D and high basketball IQ to rotate properly and always be in the right spot.

Err…

From the way people were talking when he was playing

he was playing better defense than almost anybody else is right now.

It's Batum they are missing the most.

He would defend the best wing on the other team. They are essentially running amock against The Blazers. Before, Batum would slow them considerably and the game would be more even and Blazer O would take off.

Travis can score. He can also discombobulate the entire team.

Land Rondo.

"He needs to realize that he can't stop every shot, especially from a smaller and offensively potent player. Get your hands up, make him shoot it over you, but let him shoot every once in a while. They score a little but you stay in the game a lot. And when you stay in the game...smashy smashy!" Dave on Greg Oden

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
