What's Your second favorite team?
I love my Blazers, like a girlfriend. We have ups and downs, joy and disappointment. And I don't want 'her' to think that I am cheating by wanting to watch another team with a little bit of loyalty and passion. This 'other woman' will never mean as much to me as my Blazers. I have League Pass and a lot of free time, so I am contemplating another team to root for. This team would preferably be out East so my two teams won't cross paths as much. I want a fun team, they don't need to win much, I was leaning towards the Pacers. What teams do you enjoy watching besides the Blazers? A team that you have no predisposition towards, a guilty pleasure. I also like GSW, but they live toooo close and I don't want 4 awkward meetings between my two teams. Help?

Bobcats all the way, baby
Crash and company are the real deal. I’m sad they traded Okafor though. But their coach is a genius too. Their GM is kind of lame but they are trending upward just because of their coach.

Then when he "retires" in a few days from now,
they will go back on the downward spiral because he purges every player younger than 28.

crash crash crash
he’s probably my favorite non-blazer. my friends had to tell me to shut up after his 20/20 game the other day.

Suns
Nash is dirty. I like the fast pace of the offense and the high scoring games. I don’t like them as a winning team just as a team that is fun to watch with an MVP caliber point guard.

Voted for the Kings
I waver on this a lot, but I have a lot of family in Sac that roots for the Kings, and I hope they have a decent team to root for soon.

Hawks
Grew up there. Attended hundreds of Hawks games between 1978 and 1997, when I moved to Portland. I went to every Atlanta game of the famous ’88 playoff series, then writhed in agony in front of the TV during the Bird-Nique duel in Game 7.
The funny thing was that the Blazers were my second-favorite team, though I’d never been to Portland. I just liked the Drexler-Porter-Duck-Buck-Cliffy team and was severely bummed when they failed to beat the hated Bad Boys in ’90.
The first year I lived in Portland, I went to the Blazers-Hawks game and rooted for the Hawks. (The Hawks won.) The next year, the shortened lockout season, I don’t believe they played each other, but I started to take a liking to the Blazers, esp. when they got to the playoffs and took out the Jazz. By then I was a big enough fan to be fairly devastated by the Memorial Day Miracle shot.
The crucial event that caused me to forever flip my loyalties was when the Hawks, already suffering under the disastrous reign of GM Pete Babcock, made the terrible decision to trade my favorite Atlanta player, the talented and classy Steve Smith, to the Blazers in exchange for my least favorite Portland player, the taleted but combustible J.R. Rider. From that moment on, I was still a big Hawks fan, when the Blazers played the Hawks, I rooted for Portland.
The other night, I was genuinely chagrined by the Blazers’ loss to Atlanta. But, if they’re going to lose to anyone at the RG, Atlanta’s the team I want to beat them.
Hit it. Yes he did. Ohhhh yeah.

Because I respect their team and they do things the right way.
Although the Sheed signing made me think a little.

Knicks
Only for this year though… Because they are no threat to the Blazers but play entertaining basketball. Gallinari has been fascinating to watch.
Bucks are interesting because of Brandon Jennings. Dude can play.

And because the Jazz get the Knicks draft pick this year
Let’s hope it’s more like #12 and less like #2.

Suns
I have a bunch of family in Phoenix and the first basketball game I went to was a Suns game back when Barkley played for them. I loved their 7 seconds or less offense when it was at it’s best a few years ago and hated it when they got Shaq. I’m so glad to see they’re back to running and I’m happy Frye went there and is doing well.

Can't believe I forgot...
My favorite thing about them is that their mascot is a dunking gorilla (well, a guy in a costume, a real dunking gorilla would be too awesome to every happen in a game) and I even have a poster of him in the air completely horizontal about to dunk.

2) Bucks.
After living just outside of Milwaukee for a year and having a soft spot for the underdog, the Bucks warmed my snowy frozen heart. Or was that my porch….
3) Kings. For the same reasons. Except I didn’t near in Sacramento. And they don’t get a lot of snow.

Sixers
Grew up in the Philly area. I moved to Oregon in ‘96 and am pretty well indoctrinated as a Blazers fan these days, but when it’s Blazers-Sixers I’m on the fence. Got to see Coach Cheeks crash & burn with both my teams! :(

I like them this year
They play like a true team and unquestionably play with the most effort of any team in the league this year. I don’t like having to watch us play them, but you see pro teams play with passion so rarely it’s nice.

Pistons
I followed sheed there and they had Billups Tayshaun Big ben and Rip, an awesome team to watch on d and offense. Damn if sheed wouldve got out on Horry that would have been 2 ships for the pistons. That my children is why you shouldnt smoke weed before a playoff game.

Nets
I’ve lived in the NY/NJ area for about the same length of time as Portland. Was a Knicks fan when I got here (the Ewing/Oakley/Jackson team). The Nets have had ups and downs, but the Petrovic era was good and the Kidd era was amazing.
I expect to root for the Clippers a little bit this year. If anybody deserves to win some games, it’s them.

Texas Longhorns
Oh… you meant NBA team. Whoever is playing the L*kers.
Tony Bennett reports that Minnesota and Portland are swapping draft picks -- Roy to Portland, Foye to Minnesota. That's it? That's the trade? None of the ESPN guys seem remotely fazed. I knew Kevin McHale couldn't just pick the best guy in the draft without somehow screwing it up. I would have bet my Ndudi Ebi rookie cards on it.

Pistons
I have always liked them since the late 80’s, whey they were overcoming the Lakers and Celtics, teams that I was sick of by that time. I also loved it in 04 when they beat Shaq and Kobe and the two frontrunners(Payton and Malone). I am glad that they didn’t get a ring with LA.

Lakers
This L*kers crap is lame. Kobe is a stud and every Blazer fan knows it. I want the Blazers to beat them bad, but I acknowledge that they are the champs. When Portland beats them, it makes it that much sweeter. Come on now, admit it.

Hard to like a lot of the teams these days. The Nugs or Atlanta.
Chauncey Billups is the $hite anywhere, and Josh Smith is a baddie.
I used to be into the running teams of the last decade:
Suns until they got Shaq and traded Raja Bell. (The notion that running teams can’t win championships is nonsense. If Amare wasn’t suspended for that game, they could have taken it.) The Kings with Webber, Divac, Williams and later Bibby, Doug Christie, Bobby Jackson. The Warriors when Matt Barnes and Baron Davis were with them. (Gotta love the Bay Area and their fans.) The Mavs despite being in my least favorite state, province, district, municipality, or hunk of dirt in the world.
Detroit with Billups, Prince, Wallace, Wallace, and Hamilton and Larry Brown. Not runners, but what an all-around basketball team! The Pistons couldn’t have been a more appropriate name for that group. They were like an engine, all of the moving parts working together and complementing each other perfectly.

Celtics.
Born there. Witnessed Bird change the game every night. Hope the Blazers can get to that awesome unselfish style of basketball… Rooting for a Blazers/Celts finale, cuz then I’m going to a parade, worst case, I’d have to take a plane to it…

Bobcats
I’m a little biased, I usually root for them when they don’t play they aren’t playing the Blazers! Hopefully I can go to the game next week against them; I’m only about an hour from Charlotte.

Teams I like a little bit less than the Blazers:
Rockets — loved the Hakeem teams and after all they were good to my man Clyde.
Spurs — Duncan is the man and Manu Ginobili is from Argentina, which is a cool place. Also they trained KP to be a good GM.
Suns — Steve Nash is cool and they are fun to watch.
Nets — I live in New Jersey now, and I kinda feel bad for them.
Clippers — I like Baron Davis, plus they deserve to win games. I hope their owner sells the team. He sucks.
Warriors — lived in the Bay Area for awhile, and their upset of Dallas was unbelievable.
