Tayshaun Prince!

Any chance of Blake/Outlaw (both expiring) for Prince on Detroits end? They save money and retain some flexibility for sure and remove a player largely unproductive for them?

Star-divide

I have loved the thought of grabbing Tayshaun Prince for quite a while now. He no longer fits on Detroit, a team which doesn't need a complimentary vet of his type and features more isolation play and less emphasis on team defense. However, he's an olympian, extremely versatile, high IQ player, that I think could contribute in a ton of ways not on the stat sheet.

Though his game has slipped a lot in the last few years I really believe the experience he'd bring would be extremely helpful in the stability of our team (offense and defense) and he's a capable shooter and defender who can really help our flow. Between him and Miller our team could really have a boost in IQ this season.

I think some of our early struggles are definitely due to guys lack of understanding in their roles and each others games and will eventually not be a big deal. I believe half our problems would go away with a shorter rotation and experience, but I also think Roy really needs to learn to make his teammates better by playing harder off the ball and feeding the hot hand instead of being in such a limited mindset. I also believe that losing Outlaw would really help in team defense (we can't play zone with him in there) and offensive spacing and IQ.

If we could somehow swing Outlaw and Blake (as expirings) for Tayshaun (whose contract goes next two seasons) I think it would be a great move that could help to shorten our rotation, improve overall team IQ, help our defense, and give more clearly established roles to our team, while also giving Bayless a little burn.

Miller/Roy    (Bayless)

Roy/Fernandez

Webster/Prince      (cunningham)

Aldridge/Prince       (Howard)

Oden/Pryzbilla

That's a really solid 8 man rotation with clearly defined roles and plenty of time for everyone (IMO)

5 games in and already so much rosterbation.

The trade deadline here at BE is going to blow my mind.

And yes, of course, Tayshaun Prince on the Blazers would be super fantastic.

Another small forward?

This depth issue is still an issue, even if Batum is out for the time being. If we are to bring another SF, it should be a Gerald Wallace type, not just another complimentary player, IMO.

we don't need

a low IQ meathead who loves to score.

We need vet smarts, team defense, movement, and passing.

um, wallace is a vet who can do so much more than score

he just pulled down 20 Rebounds. And he is a small forward

Wallace is pretty selfish

as of yesterday, he had yet to make an assist this season. He’s used to being the first option, over here he’d be closer to 3rd… Tayshaun is a much better fit.

This should be in the trade drawer

not to be a jerk or anything — it’s just that that’s the point of the trade drawer.

and

Miller would start, and Rudy and Prince would both be getting around 30 mpg anyways. It’d basically be three guys splitting 1/2 (Miller/Rudy/Roy), three guys splitting 3/4 (Webster/Prince/Aldridge) and 2 guys splitting C (oden/pryz), a real nice 8 man rotation.

Please limit trade ideas to a trade drawer. If there isn't one then make one.

I don’t wanna sound like the grumpy guy around here but trade fan posts have a tendency to be contagious and soon enough the main page will be flooded with different ideas on how we can trade Outlaw and Blake for Chris Paul.

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
