Another Confession:  My Jump.

Star-divide

It was in 1996 when I made the "jump," living carefree for a year as a teenager 3000 miles from my family in the Big Apple.  She took my tender brown flesh and exposed it to a world that I never felt before.  Warm, soft, and a little irriguous...yet so abrasive if I was to ever turn on her after this unsorted, but invited engagement.  She sensed my discomfort when I first entered and teased me maliciously with her looks.  I composed myself to appear, from her angle, aloof above the fray.  I intensified her persnickety nature and she slowly let out waves after waves of her primordial screams.  Everyone told me it would be a surreal feeling and they were absolutely right.  That summer, I made the jump into the cheap bleachers of old Yankee Stadium, all 90 days, and now and forever, am a fan of the pinstripes.

Go Yankees!!!

Peace.  Stay Cool.  Forever.

good for you

on the Yankee Stadium pilgrimage. Well done. It is a museum filled with the memories of the greatest baseball players ever.

It is very tiresome that the Yankees have won so many championships, and so many other teams have won so few. – Elgin

the old Yankee stadium, as a stadium was highly, highly overrated

The history of it made it an exciting pilgrimage for me in 2002, but its not exactly a beautiful ballpark.

i think that is what makes that stadium beautiful along with all the krazies

did you get to sit in the bleachers section??? a total different experience.

i also went to Shea and Fenway that summer….Shea is a dump and a half. Fenway was cool but it wasn’t the same atmosphere…maybe it was the opponent

of all these, I've only been to Fenway

The place was packed, and I still heard the whispers of the ghosts of fans of baseball from the twenties, etc.

I sat in the upper deck in right field

Ruben Sierra of all people hit an upper deck grand slam that landed about 5 rows in front of me.

My first game ever was at Shea in '83.

Back when Strawberry was the man!
I have been to Fenway a couple of times. That place is sweet! Oil Can Boyd was the man!

I saw Koufax beat Dierker 1-0 at Dodger Stadium

I saw Mantle hit one out of the bullpen in right field against the Angels. That’s as far back as I can go. Mickey could barely run at that point. – Elgin

I agree. Yankee Stadium in the bleachers is an amazing experience.

Authentic in pure baseball bedlam. I had the a great time. Fenway was ok, most people were too concerned with their beer.

Every win for NY=1 less ping pong ball for Utah

For the first time in my life I am a Knicks fan and enjoy watching them.just a few years ago I wouldn’t have said that at gunpoint

by southern oregon on Nov 4, 2009 5:24 PM PST reply actions   0 recs

I've been a sort of Knicks fan since 2002, when I lived in NY State and the league's two worst teams were NYK and Portland

I watched a ton of bad basketball this year, and the Knicks made me feel slightly better about the Blazers.

by jksnake99 on Nov 4, 2009 5:26 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

well thast a bit drastic dont ya think

we need his scoring.. Lee wouldnt be as effective with Oden

by GreatOden'sRaven on Nov 4, 2009 5:34 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

I disagree

I think those two would be nasty together. We’d get every O-reb. Lee would be our best pick and roll big man.

by jksnake99 on Nov 4, 2009 5:35 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

But Lee plays a kind of center for the Knicks. He couldn't do that with the Blazers.

On paper, I really like the high-low options with Greg and LaMarcus. Only they need to learn looking out for each other on offense and defense.

i definitely agree

and I want Greg Oden to foul some punk pg/sg REALLY HARD at the beginning of each game when they first take it to the hoop.

I mean, just foul them so hard that you set the stage. He’s so scared of getting fouls now that he basically back peddles trying to get a charge.

Artest has a reputation of playing rough so he doesn’t get that many fouls.

ARod's postseason career numbers are outstanding.

He was bad in the two 1st round exits recently. He had a stretch of about 10 games where he was bad. It was simply a 10 game slump, no different from one in the regular season. He has never been nearly as “unclutch” as people would have you believe.

lol omg

it was an interesting mix.. Valladolid (in Spain) wasn’t exactly jumping with hotties.. Sitges was.. but 85% of them were gay.. Ibiza was.. but the girls were hotter than the guys ;) Poland was blaaah unless I was looking on the court (mostly at Rudy.. not a lot of other lookers.. )

Greece and Crete has some sexy guys.. for sure..

Indeed.

I wouldn’t try to debate the fact that Portland is better than Vancouver. The Couve isn’t AWFUL like they always say :(

There are medi mj laws now in Wash.

My wife has a dr. note even, but I don’t know if Wash. cards/notes translate to Oregon dispensaries.

yeah I don't do that stuff anymore, but I hate, hate, hate drug laws

I think at this point the system is so far away from providing for addiction recovery, and all about feeding a justice system/penal system that’s become so large that reducing sentences for drug offenses really could prove to have a large negative effect on the bottom line financially.

I would give it all up for a billion dollars

treating the penal system like industry is sickening.

Again, I highly recommend Capitalism, A Love Story by Michael Moore.

Matt Barnes seems very eager to show his old team that he can still play

10 pts, 8 rebs, 5 asts, 2 stls. Likely won’t see much production once Lewis and Pietrus are back in full swing.

But slowly things happen that they cannot help and the Blazers Fellowship of the Ring begins to break apart

I will throw my mouthpiece across the court if I disagree with you.

not sure, he's travelling with the team and is giong to be reevaluated

may have a tear in a muscle which can hold him out for a while, or it could be just a bad sprain
