Trade Drawer
well, its time to bring back the trade drawer. remember, put all trade ideas in this post as to not clutter up the Fan Post section (well, more than it already is).
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yhpsvfv
for some reason, I wouldn't load for me--instead it would take me to the trade machine home page despite me having the tradeID in the address bar, but oh well. so I made a picture
If you can't read it, it goes Portland trades Blake and outlaw, acquire Conley and turiaf. Warriors trade Jackson and turiaf and deavan George, and acquire Ilgalskus and hunter. The grizzlies trade Conley and hunter and get Blake and outlaw. the cavs trade illgalskus and get jackson and george.
I just threw this together, and I don't think that Golden State or Memphis would do it.

where's the trade generator for coaches?
The Princess of Blazersedge
It just takes an iron fist to keep the riff raff under control and her princess hand is mad strong- Idoltime
Mhm, my favorite targets would be Wendy from Blogabull, Giant Squid and Marie from Third Quarter Collapse (two more funny ladies), maybe Section 218 from Sactown Royalty for his unconventional game reports and look at things although Ziller would demand a lot for him. Maybe Timbo can suggest another Lakers fan who hates Kobe, too.
But slowly things happen that they cannot help and the Blazers Fellowship of the Ring begins to break apart

Outlaw for Brandon Bass straight up
Orlando is barely using Bass and will use him even less once Rashard Lewis is back. But they are playing Matt Barnes heavy minutes at the 3. Outlaw is a big improvement on Barnes. Outlaw is expendable to us because we’re not resigning him next season anyway and we have both Webster and Batum. Bass is exactly the kind of guy we need at backup PF. Win-win.
It won’t work until after Dec. 15, when Bass can be traded.

I wouldn't give up Outlaw for Bass
I wouldn’t give him up for Turiaf either. – Elgin
Travis Outlaw, the Funnel Cake of the Blazers
I believe
you are in the minority on both counts

Get Battier!!!
Link: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine
Incase the link doesnt work, its Trout and Bayless for Battier…..if i were K.P. id have to ask for a 1st rounder, not sure if houston go with the first rounder this year but possabley next years. Ideally i would lke to see blake instead of Bayless but thats more complicated than i wanted.
Ideal scenario is Battier starting, Martell subs, MILLER STARTS!! Bayless backups up Miller. I doubt this is possable but its my fantasy.

My thoughts on a trade....
any trade needs to be a consolidation of talent. 1 for 1, 2 for 2, and 3 for 3 trades don’t solve many problems. That said it is very difficult to consolidate talent in the league. I still think getting Hinrich would be huge for this team as he is a great defender of multiple positions and that is one of Roy’s glaring weaknesses. Anyway though still not sure if a trade is the right thing right now…. stay the course until the trade deadline and then reevaluate.
Also... I am coming around on Outlaw
he creates mismatches at the 4 and is some instant offense off the bench. To me if a player can’t play multiple positions on both sides of the ball they probably aren’t that good.
turiaf can play the 4/5 effectivly
bayless leaves over my dead body
andre miller>hedo, blake
START MILLER

He gets blocks and contested shots, but isn't exactly the greatest defender
Not sure I would even categorize him as a “banger”. Fans love him because he is a cool guy and looks active, but often he isn’t all that effective.

i was pretty comfortable with outlaw yesterday
except for 1 bonehead play.

he continues to improve
despite the slander of other BEdgers. He is noticeably better than he was last year. – Elgin
Travis Outlaw, the Funnel Cake of the Blazers
Funny how everyone gloms onto Trouts one bad play...
but forgives Roy’s terrible D on Johnson (you know the play), Przy’s brick hands (one play in particular last night), Oden’s turnovers (repeatedly), Andre failing to post up Bibby (repeatedly), I could go on and on…
I think Trout is just being Trout although he seems to be giving better effort on Defense and rebounding…
"Do me a favor. Put your lip over your head... and swallow." Max Goldman
not hatin' on Trout
I actually think Travis is underappreciated, but the reality is that he’s got an expiring contract and it is very unlikely the Blazers re-sign him (we’ve got too many guys at the wing and we need to money for other purposes). So unless we trade him before the trading deadline, we won’t get anything of value for him. He’ll just walk away.
That’s why he’ll likely be traded if the Blazers can get anything they want in return.

this is a great point
And it’s even more important this year, since cap space for the summer of ‘10 is sort of “supercapspace.” Any team that sees their season going downhill is going to look to ship their quality assets for cap space. If we don’t see Outlaw in our future, we should be able to get a good deal for his expiring contract from a team looking to cut bait.
