Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Im starting to like Zach randolph. idk i saw him last night vs sac. he was so freaking clutch, making great high-low passes (lamarcus take notes) securing a lot of rebounds (lamarcus again), and he just looked so happy with his teammates. didnt seem like a bonehead. dude may have behavior problems but he's got some game. especially considering he cant even jump over a ritz cracker.

me.

Nobody ever said he wasn't a decent basketball player.

He’s just a big ol knucklehead.

And now he gets to play with a bunch of knuckleheads

on a team run by knuckleheads. He’s finally in his element.

He gets traded weekly for a reason

In retrospect, KP getting rid of Statbo (and his big contract) for the Buffet of Goodness was a steal.

I've always liked Zach's offensive game, which is rebound the ball and put it through the hole...

But he’s an unconscionable gunner… That fadeaway he lucked in at 6.1 was a TERRIBLE shot to be taking in that situation.

He makes his teammates worse.

No ball movement. And if he starts his dribble, the rest of the team might as well get back on D.

He reminds me of Kevin Durant.

A fat, power forward version with reoccurring legal troubles.

He does like his 3, doesn't he?

A poor man's Charles Barkley?

First, pound the ball until the shot clock starts running out.
Second, make an ungaurdable move to the hoop,
Third, if the shot rims off you just go all ‘monster’ and put it back in.
Fourth, jog the the other end of the court and see if your teammates can get a stop.
Fifth, repeat steps one through four.
This is a little tongue in cheek, as the round mound of rebound also had great vision and passing abilities.

Potential Alzheimers candidate?

Bowdown, have you forgotten what it was like with Randolph here?

Without doubt the man has game. There are not that many 20 & 10 guys around and even if one wants to criticize his stat stuffing style of play, 20 & 10 is still an impressive acomplishment.

But Randolph is also

- a black hole

- a terrible defender

- immature

- a poor teammate

- a poor decision maker

I wish him all the success in the world. I just don’t want him on any team I root for.

Randolph has dramatically improved his passing, I have noticed this also

He is still an awful defender and still takes some dumb shots though.

im not saying i would like to have him back. but he doesnt seem the selfish jackass

on the court anymore. he is communicating, looking for other teammates on the floor.

"shaq and zach randolph have the same trainer... "

All right, there's a couple of things.

1. Zach Randolph being “clutch” is like Travis Outlaw being “clutch,” for it’s something that happens rarely; yet, whenever it does occur, people forget about all their past failures and get giddy over a small sample size.

2. Zach Randolph did this against the Sacramento Kings, which only has one decent interior defender in Jason Thompson. Spencer Hawes is soft and weak, Sean May is fat and slow, Jon Brockman is short and unathletic, and Kenny Thomas is the worst of May and Brockman put together.

Dear Paul Allen:

Waive Patty Mills & sign Ime Udoka.

I don’t know If I could have said it better myself, really really well said, for it is how I feel about T.O. and Nate McMillan….

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
