Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Nothing could possibly go wrong in Memphis this year.

Iverson checked into Monday's game with four-and-a-half minutes remaining in the first quarter and finished up the period.

"I had no problems (with the hamstring)," Iverson said afterward. "I had a problem with my butt from sitting on that bench so long. That's the only thing I got a problem with."

"I'm not a reserve basketball player. I've never been a reserve all my life and I'm not going to start looking at myself as a reserve. ... To answer the question, 'No, I'm not a bench player. I'm not a sixth man. Go look at my resume and that will show you I'm not a sixth man."

" ... Hollins seemed incredulous before the game when he was asked if Iverson would be in the starting lineup against the Kings. "He hasn't even been with the team until just a couple of days ago," Hollins said."

I saw that stuff in the game recap

Plus Mayo and Gay having a go at each other a couple days ago and now Gay not getting an extension…..going pear shaped even quicker than I would have thought.

My trade idea: Conley/Gay/Young for Rudy/Outlaw/Blake

We get a long term started at the point, a Travis MkII on the wing (with improved defense if Team USA workouts and early season is any indication) and a rookie pf who is sort of like Dejuan Blair light but with range.

They get a great young sg to put with Mayo (who is apparently pgotf in Memphis’ eyes) along with a slightly downgraded version of Gay who would be far more likely to resign and at a more reasonable rate. Blake is useful for them in the short term as a backup pg, perfect playing with Iverson to spread the D.

Sure no one will like it because Gay is considered no better than Trav around here but Conley makes it more than worthwhile to me.

This revamp

Has made it impossible

to

leave

spaces

in between paragraphs (they should all be spaced out)

I tried to comment here

And I got a message:

“We’re sorry, Sports Fans, something went wrong. We’re looking into it.”

I just thought that was rather amusing in this particular thread.

Anyway, what I wanted to post

is that the spacing change is NOT good.
.
You can add a line with just a period between paragraphs and it will take care of it, but that is a pain.

Testing

Test line 1 (followed by one blank line)

Test line 2 (followed by two blank lines)

Test line 3 (followed by a plea)
.
.
How did you do that?

This damn spacing issue completely overrode my trade idea

Which was awesome.

Dammit all.

Whatever ticket sales boost Allen Iverson may provide the Memphis Grizzlies isn't worth it. I feel bad pity ...

the coaching staff and fellow players — even including Zach Randolph — for having to deal with Iverson’s crybaby ways. The bum is a petulant whiner, pure and simple. He should’ve been out of the league after last season, but that’s sadly not the case. Alas, “The (Non-)Answer” will be gone soon enough—so good riddance to bad rubbish!

Dear Paul Allen:

Waive Patty Mills & sign Ime Udoka.

If Hollins doesn't start him

then Lionel gets my vote for coach of the year, for that one decision alone.

All Memphis needs is to trade Conley and Gasol

To Boston for Rondo and Big Baby and the Grizzlies will have the market on all of the NBA whiners and criers…..

I knew I missed someone!!!

Golden State has always been enamored with Bigs, so trade them Thabeet for Jackson and then Memphis is stocked…..

Memphis will be a great team for fantasy folks

Because they will score A LOT of points but in terms of actually winning, nope.

What?

Iverson complaining about not starting after his first game? I’m shocked….shocked.

Next you’ll be telling me that the WWE scripts their matches and interviews….

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.
