Nate's Substitutions
I have been terribly disappointed with Nate's substitution patterns thus far. As a coach his job is to monitor the flow of the game, and make adjustments accordingly. His preset substitution patterns (i.e. Pulling Oden every game at the 6 minute mark) remind me of my 3rd grade CYO team and have got to go immediately. This is a terribly ineffective way of coaching and I believe is contributing to the stagnant nature of our team this year. To compound this, Nate has really bothered me quotes like, "they need to figure it out". If this is his plan, we might as well let Blaze be the coach.
Thoughts?

You're right.
In all the years he’s been coach of the Blazers, I don’t ever remember him owning up to any responsibilities. I don’t even think he’s aware of this. I’m guessing it’s symptomatic of a stubborn person.
In the media he is always speakign and giving looks like they are two seconds from really pissing him off.
He acts like he can’t be questioned and KP does not even step on his toes. This attitude is now crashing down on him now. I don’t think he’ll be gone before seasons end, but I am sure glad he decided to not sign the contract extension.
Nate mainly sees his side of the story and it’s not always the correct one. He benches Blake after breaking the assist record in the 1st quarter because “we do not worry about records.” Then he takes the same guy and gives him preferential treatment because he can relate to how he might feel. Funny
Land Rondo.
"He needs to realize that he can't stop every shot, especially from a smaller and offensively potent player. Get your hands up, make him shoot it over you, but let him shoot every once in a while. They score a little but you stay in the game a lot. And when you stay in the game...smashy smashy!" Dave on Greg Oden

agreed
the polite way to put this would be to say that drexler is inept and ineffective as a coach and/or communicator… the realistic way.. would be far more graphic and entertaining. and would earn me a ban.

How about Jeff Van Gundy?
I don’t know that much about him but his brother seems to do a pretty good job!!!
