What's up with Aldridge?

Okay so as most of u may know the blazers have went on a two game loosing streak. And if your like me you might be wondering why. And i am not saying this is the only problem, but is a big one, and that is Aldridge. Last year when Aldridge shot i found myself jumping up and down before the shot went in because i knew it was gonna go in, but this year i am biting my fingernails praying in goes in. I can live with the fact that he doesnt score as much but then he needs to stop taking the shots, he shoots and shoots until he can get one in, and i dont know about Mcmillian, but im not okay with that.

I am tired of people blamming Roy for being a ballhog and being selfish (which by the way he is not look it up) yet no one is saying Aldridge, WHAT THE HELL ARE U DOING!

Dude....the guy started slow last season and

finished strong when it counted. I would like him to be more consistent but you act like this is without precedent, and that is simply not the case.

I agree with the gist of the post at least

I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Im not saying that

im not saying he’s doing terrible but im just saying that is he’s not shooting well then he shouldnt shoot, he should find a different way to contribute like defence or rebounding.
i love LA i just wish he could get a little ball smart, and get his game down. and quick cause god knows we need him

While I agree LMA is not getting a lot of heat for playing soft,

we as Blazer fans rarely give him any props either

The monster game with Oden getting 24 and 12, LMA had 24 and 13. Did anyone even mention LMA? No.

Roy got a ton of cred when things went right. He should also get his if he is not contributing well.

Let’s get LMA his cred when he plays well too, OK Blazer fans? As of now, he is playing butter soft. We have seen him better and he is great when performing well.

Land Rondo.

"He needs to realize that he can't stop every shot, especially from a smaller and offensively potent player. Get your hands up, make him shoot it over you, but let him shoot every once in a while. They score a little but you stay in the game a lot. And when you stay in the game...smashy smashy!" Dave on Greg Oden

Aldridge gets plenty of credit when he plays good

And he deserves to get scolded when he plays awful too

It's Brandon Roy's world and we're only renting space We don’t like him—we’re only on his side so he doesn’t dunk on us in front of our co-workers, wives, girlfriends, mistresses and children.

The other thing, I don tsee a whole hell of a lot of complaining about time/shots in Faker land.

Why the hell are we having so much problems with one new PG? It’s not him. believe me. He probably barely getting into shape folks. Youll love him by year end.

The bottom line is LMA, Oden, Roy these guys needs to start balling out their backsides. Take good shots make good passes and play strong D. Everything else is all a distraction and mental weakness.

Just get out there and BALL.

While LMA hasn't had very good games the last two

he is, (or at least was before these last two games), shooting 49% from the field, which is the best of his career I believe. He is not shooting enough, same with Roy, same with Oden. Miller is shooting too much, same with Blake, same with Webster. Basically Nate has this team running an offense that has a main objective of getting off an open 3 point shot. WHich is why the 3 point shooters on the team shoot too much, and while Miller doesn’t fit in.

Shooting the three's makes an alright Plan B

But should never be our strategy to win a game

they need to go inside out

when our offense looks good it runs through oden, sets up an offensive rhythym…we do not do that nearly enough….

Regarding Aldridge's field goal percentage

he is shooting nearly identical to last year from the field. He is scoring less because his shot attempts are obviously down or could be that his minutes are a little down from last year. You should really go check out the guys stats before you make any assumptions next time.

I did like the lineup Nate had in the fourth though

Oden, Cunningham, Webster, Rudy, and Bayless. Those were the only players who seemed to care about salvaging this game.

This has seemed like the case for a few games this year.

Those four and Cunningham lately don’t give up and when games aren’t going well seem to be the guys trying the hardest.

Check your facts

LA’s shooting percentage is the same as it has been for four years. Everything else has improved except his ppg, because he is not taking as many shots.

I actually agree that Aldridge has been the problem (but only in these two games)

In these two games, I haven’t seen much effort put forth by Aldridge. He doesn’t seem to be working very hard out there right now. I like how he was playing in a lot of games, but these last two he just hasn’t been playing with the same fire and passion.

His defense is a joke and his rebounding is starting to go back down to his puny career rates.

'Cuse 88-Cornell 73. My Big Red failed to beat the spread by 2 points. Hence the new avatar.

His offense is ok. His shot is pretty good, he make the occasional effort to go the rim,

but Oden is doing more of that. It’s his defense that bothers me. His man gets an awful lot of shots off without a hand in his face.

The whole team is playing like Travis Outlaw.

Every play gets me biting my fingernails.

My first season as a Blazer... it was a memorable season.

Playing like Outlaw for two games anyway...

Important not to lose perspective here. Fact is, we had one awful, uncharacteristic game the day after Thanksgiving when the Blazers, stuffed to the gills with turkey and disrespecting of their opponent, got creamed in the first half by Memphis. Before that things seemed pretty fine (12-5 record, Oden breakout vs Chicago, home winning streak, etc.), and after that the Utah game went about as expected — we never win down there. The test will come in the next week with home games vs Miami and Houston, two decent teams we should beat at home. Take care of business, you’re 14-7 and things seem oh so much better. Dropping one of these is not okay. Drop both and Blake needs to sit for 35 minutes a night.

Aldridge is just a soft player. I was in denial all of last year but it's just too obvious to ignore. He looks

like he got worse and every shot he takes is a weak shot. Fade away jump shot is weak, running jump hook is weak. He doesn’t ever really attack the hoop more than once or twice. It needs to stop. I wish he’d play like he’s 6-11 instead of being afraid to bang down low.

He actually started really well this season

but he’s in the middle of a slump. every player has one. just chiiiiiiiiiiill ouuuuuuuuuuuttttt

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside.
