Rudy 4-6 FG making difficult shots.

Rudy is the most talented player Blazers, you will see this in the Rose Garden or another team. I´m a Blazer fan since before Rudy and Sergio will play there and I will continue but it's not just that Rudy made only 6 shot if he's really hot. You will see in the future that he is an allstar player if a coach is really brave to give great responsibility on a winning team.

First... I agree that Rudy is a potential all-star...

But I’m afraid you’re not going to get too many people to agree that he is “the most talented player”… I’m one of the biggest Rudy fans around, I love his game… and would love to see him averaging close to 30, as he has been… I think it’s also a benefit to Roy and the Blazers to play him more minutes, to keep Roy fresh for the playoffs,

I would like to see this line up drop a 40point quarter on a team at some point this season.

Andre, Rudy, Roy, Aldridge, Oden.

there’s alot of Boom in there if they’d let it happen and not fight it.

Don't worry, Simmons didn't actually say that.

He was just surprised at how loudly we cheered him.

Rudy sure is fun to watch.

Rudy is our most talented closer this year.

But his inside passing has been slightly off.

I would say you have a reasonable position, but for one major thing.
Rudy has not been driving past his man and taking a shot right at the hoop. He always passes it away. This shows a lack of control/confidence/skill when in the paint. If he would just dunk or lay it up a few times, people would stop only expecting his passes.

So true

but I’m sure it will come. I think most of what people want of players potential becoming performance will happen. We have a lot of players who will continue to develop and help the Blazers become much better than they are now. Rudy is certainly one of those guys.
Be patient. This is going to be a sweet ride.

I think Rudy is a good finisher around the hoop...

He just isn’t good at getting there off the dribble. He is an off the ball slasher, but other than Andre and Sergio, nobody ever finds him when he does so…

RUDY > MJ

by Rudiculous on Nov 26, 2009 1:42 PM PST up reply actions

He is talented but has to improve some aspects of his game.

4 for 6 hitting difficult shots is impressive. Problem is, they’re difficult shots.

He’s great at moving without the ball but needs to work on his midrange game. It would be nice for him to evolve into more of a Rip Hamilton-type player on offense, albeit with better range than Hamilton.

Adding to what staylost said: the Blazer perimeter players, aside from Roy and Miller, don’t get to the basket enough and don’t take it strong enough when they do. Travis and Rudy (when he’s not dishing it) are shooting tear drops, offbalance floaters and the like when they beat their man off the dribble. The team would be better if they were initiating contact and getting the whistles out of the refs’ pockets.

One thing that I’ve been really impressed with this year is Rudy’s defense. He’s taking charges, stepping in passing lanes, and putting out as much effort as anyone in the Blazers’ backcourt.

Keep your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.

Hi, friend.

Thanks for your comments. Rudy is really good, he just has to adjust some things and he´ll be a star. .
Do you go to Unicaja games?

yes, but only when I get tickets because the arena has 10,000 seats and is very difficult to get a ticket.

Thanks. I´m Spanish too.

I just would like to know whether you have watched Joel Freeland playing life, and what you think about him.

Claro, lo veo todos los partidos, tiene mucho futuro pero tiene que quedarse todavía un par de años en europa si quiere estar al nivel de los Blazers.

Sure, I see every game, he has a great future but he has to stay still a couple of years in Europe, if he wants play well with the Blazers.

Hehe. I´ve being thinking about a monthly Bedge post in Spanish, but I don´t have time to make it.

By the way, I wrote: “That´s my impresion the few times I´ve watched him playing by TV. Thanks again”

Yeah Rudy rocks

Turning into the best perimeter defender outside of Batum. Crazy range, best long range shooter on the Blazers. Great if not risky passes, will continue to develop and great asset if Roy is injured or not. Hope he is happy, thats the biggest concern for me

Rudy is showing a more all around game this year

And I think thats going to intensify as his NBA career develops, this year were seeing less dunks and more 2pt jumpshots and playmaking, which reminds me of his play back in Spain.

Sure, theres areas to improve, same as every player in this team, but when hes feeling it only Roy is up there with him in this team.

by Xavier Garcia on Nov 26, 2009 10:00 AM PST reply actions

Rudy is awesome.

No doubt about it. Always nice to hear someone from Spain and their perspective. He’s one of my favorite players to watch on the Blazers along with Greg.

by lethaldose on Nov 26, 2009 1:39 PM PST reply actions

I think Oden has much potential and can be a dominant pivot in the future due to his physique. indeed, Freeland also has a good future, he is now playing at Unicaja, his first good team in europe and has good things, he would adapt well to play with Oden.

Rudy is very nice and I am glad we have him!

Rudy, Roy, Oden, LMA, Batum… it’s our own United Nations of POWER.

Rudy's made a huge improvement this year, and if he keeps it up, will genuinely deserve to be a featured scorer in the NBA

which worries me—I don’t think Portland can hold another feature scorer.

But until (FSM forbid) then, GO RODOLFO!!! WAVE THOSE THREE FINGERS HIGH!!!

I don't know if Rudy is the most talented Blazer

but there’s no one else I want taking that key three pointer late in the game.
