TrueHoop Network
Henry is actively seeking a new Portland blog for his TrueHoop Network.
I remember checking in here when the issue was raised the last time, and the excuse was it couldn't be done because BE was already part of SBNation.
Could someone explain why exactly that is? BE is easily the best independent Blazers coverage on the net. My understanding is the TrueHoop thing is nothing more than a nod and a link. It's not like ESPN would gain any kind of ownership or functionality over the workings of Blazersedge. So what's the big deal? It's not like SBNation is going to run ESPN out of business by giving them the cold shoulder. Is ESPN the party against it? Are they really that sensitive?
It's not a huge deal. Henry still ends up linking to BE more than he has ever linked to 'Beyond Bowie', or whatever they had to settle for. It just seems like an opportunity that might generate a few more clicks, and be another feather in the cap for easily the best Blazers blog out there.

It's legal stuff, I'm sure.
What matters most is what you said – Henry links to BE almost exclusively in reference to Blazer related topics. Having Blazers Edge be part of the true hoop network wouldn’t be much more than a formality.

The ESPN network while consisting of independent blogs has some common design elements, most prominently the video sidebar
And SBN is associated with Yahoo, while ESPN is, well, ESPN and Walt Disney.
An independent Blazers blog like RipCityProject or Bustabucket while also part of smaller blogger networks would probably have a better chance to get taken. Unless Dave and Ben would outright start their own thing.

I didn't realize the Yahoo connection
I thought SB was more of an independent coalition of sorts. That makes a bit more sense. Thanks for the clarification.

To be honest
Having abbot at the reins significantly reduces the need for Blazersedge to gravitate into the truehoops family. Unless Dave and Ben want to do it for reasons known only to them I see no point from an information stance.

A lot of it seems to be in-game comments and responses
for the Daily Dime. I’d nominate SJ and Coup.
You're saying that they look like they're giving it their all. And you know why they look that way? Because they're bad, and it literally takes them the maximum physical effort to accomplish basic baseball tasks like throwing the ball from short to first. When David Eckstein throws the ball to first base, he has to wind up like a shot-putter, spin around forty-three times, and launch it at an angle 89 degrees from the horizontal. Afterwards, he undergoes an IV drip for a fortnight and he's so out of breath that he requires several months of acupuncture to regain the power of speech. For this we laud him. -Junior of Deadspin on 'scrappy' players
