Was last nights game blacked out on NBAtv for Comcast viewers?
Hi All,
I was excited to watch the game last night as I saw it was on NBAtv. However, just like the Charlotte game, this one was blacked out (I have Directtv). Following the game threads, it appeared quite a few folks were watching on NBAtv. Are any of you folks who were watching on NBAtv comcast subscribers? It would seem fishy if NBAtv was blacked out on Directtv but not comcast.
Thanks in advance.

Blacked out in Seattle on DishNetwork as well.
I had to listen online.
It was blacked on DirecTV here in Portland as well
Hopefully this changes soon (rumor has it that “penalties” come into play if Comcast hasn’t reached a carriage deal by that point), but I just can’t bring myself to pay for Comcast after dealing with their horrible service and seemingly random price increases through college

blacked out on comcast as well
i’m a reluctant comcast subscriber and i was watching nbaTV’s pregame show about this game. once the real game came on though, it was blacked out and i had to switch to CSN.
Per the NBA:
Blackouts take place when a game is televised locally in your area via a regional sports network or an over-the-air station.
This would seem to effect any game shown on LP or NBA TV.
Also, according to wikipedia (who knows how accurate this is, but it seems to be right):
The NBA and the WNBA used to black out nationally televised games on cable TV within 35 miles (56 km) of the home team’s market; however, these are now restricted to games on NBA TV.

I watched NBATV on Dish.
I was surprised it wasn’t blacked out. Does that mean Blazer games on League Pass would be in the clear? I am 200 miles south of PDX. Last year they were blacked out.
I had NBATV Broadband in SLC
blocked there too.
Previous years, this is why i didn’t pay for the service… too many blocked out games. It feels like half have been blocked out so far here. Very frustrating.
"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

Blacked out on LPBB in the US because it was on NBATV.

Blacked out for me.
I’m Comcast with NBA TV on package and living in Central IL. Why this was blacked out is beyond me.
I ended up finding some internet stream that had the game with Chinese announcers (or some oriental tongue).
I was pretty mad. Why do I need/want NBATV when I have League Pass and having NBATV only increases my chances of having a game blacked out?

wasn't blacked out on
Comcast. go ahead and dis on Comcast all you want. it’s your satelite carrier you should be pissed at. Their the ones that don’t want to pay to have broadcating rights but still want to collect your monthly payment. Verizon customers get the Blazer games. I hear poeple all the time bitching about Comcast. My service is much better than when I had Direct TV, weather doesn’t effrect my signal. If i didn’t have Comcast or Verizon , I’d sure the heck be signing up. These Blazers you don’t want to miss. ODEN’s game last night was worth a entire month cable bill to watch. GO DUCKS
The sat carrier has no control over it.
Seriously, you think DirecTv wants to blackout games so you can’t watch them? Comcast owns the rights, they call the shots with that.
I feel it here too. I am not blacked out, and haven’t missed a game yet, but Comcast won’t give up the HD feeds for League Pass. Which only makes me angry at them for no reason since they aren’t in my area. It’s not like I can switch to Comcast and watch all the games in HD. Other feeds from Atlanta, etc, run in HD and the only ones so far that have not are the stupid Comcast feeds. At least last nights game ran nationally so it was in HD.

they are a business
their rates suck, i don’t have cable or sat, just over the air, but comcast should expect to get paid premium content they own the rights to. if direct tv won’t pay it is direct tv’s problem not comcasts…a much as it pains me to side with comcast…although when i had them they were grea just way too expensive for something i can get enough of free…it is more fun to go to the kingston to watch the road games anywhere…
