"Monta Ellis destroyed Brandon Roy"
Hard to argue. Hope Roy sees this.

That was definitely some all star defense by Monta. By all star defense I mean “get to do whatever you want to stop Roy even if that means grabbing his arms or pulling on his jersey every time he gets by you” defense. Kobe is very famous for that kind of defense although Kobe is better at hiding the fact that he is fouling the crap out of the guy.

I was in absolute shock by how much holding
he was getting away with. Yeah, GREAT defense.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.

I hope Roy reads this.
But then again, Roy doesn’t seem to let things like this get to him.

I hate monta ellis. cant stand him at all, and his defense was horrible. if he means he was able to get away with obvious fouls then sure he “destroyed” him.
The foul that got Roy the technical was the worst call I have ever seen in any NBA game.
I hope I can get a bunch of championships, like 15. " - Greg Oden
Gotta agree that Monta got the better of Roy.
Maybe there was a few missed holds… so what? Roy can’t beat everyone one-on-one and if this team wants to go to the next level Roy must become a more complete player.
Sounds like Ruben Patterson
I guarded one guy good. Yaaaaa! I am a certified Roy stopper. Yaaaaaaa!
Its delightful, its delicious, its delug
At least we're not the only fans who over-value their own players.
One of their commentors seriously thinks they have the pieces right now to trade for Chris Bosh AND Chris Paul. LMAO!

Monta’s trade value is at its peak right now. Now is when Riley must work the phones with Toronto and New Orleans to try to get Bosh or Paul.
I love the way Monta played last night also, but he is not a legit PG or SG. The only player in the past thirty years who has been the team leader and a perennial all-star who didn’t have a real position was Allen Iverson. We have to either get a real PG or pray that Curry will develop into one. Curry has more the makings of a true PG than Monta ever will.
Bosh and DeRozan from Toronto to the Dubs for Ellis, Randolph and Azubuike.
Then, use whatever combination of Biedrins, Maggette, Curry and the expiring contracts of Bell/Claxton/Watson/George and a first rounder for Chris Paul."

I like this stuff from Don Nelson
-Q: You gave up 37 points in the first quarter. What changed?
-NELSON: Oden was a huge factor in that. We couldn’t guard him with our thin guys. Thank goodness he got in foul trouble. Then we were able to play against Pryzbilla which allowed me to play one of my thin guys.
-Q: You had Hunter playing to start the second half. Was that just to match up against Oden?
-NELSON: Well, nobody could guard Oden with the guys that I had. So I just was going to try that. I was going to play him in the game and I felt that would be the best time, really…
If anyone questions why Oden needs to be in the game more, this should be exhibit A. There are a number of teams who don’t have people to guard Oden (not to the same level as the W’s of course but still).
Additionally, this makes me even more frustrated that Nate didn’t decide Greg needed to work through his foul trouble before the Warriors game rather than after it….

Yup.
I could destroy Roy if I could latch on to his arms or waist like that.
*Unless KP has a secret plan that makes this statement incorrect.

What was amazing about Ellis that game
is that he played all 48 minutes and never missed a beat. In fact 3 GSW players would have played 48, but Curry fouled out and only played 46.
An Oregonian in Texas.
So what did Don Nelson have to say about how his team turned the game around after the first?
“Thank goodness he got in foul trouble.” ’nuff said.
