the key to a portland championship
Trade Rudy and Bayless to Memphis for Rudy Gay and Sam Young. Here's the way I see it. Nate doesn't want to play Bayless anyway...so we're not really losing much there...and so it basically makes it a straight up trade for the rudys...So our starting line-up becomes (unless nate screws it up) andre, brandon, rudy gay, lamarcus, oden. does that become the best starting 5 in the NBA...it's pretty close

you don't think gay is a significant upgrade from outlaw?
He’s much more consistent…gets more rebounds…plays better D…they’re both athletic…but outlaw is raw and it seems more and more like he’ll never develop…gay plays smarter…you’re right though about dre…i say fire nate…hire byron scott….
outlaw plays power forward on the blazers
not sure why people haven’t figured this out after 6 years and watched juwan howard see significant minutes since he went down.
I think Rudy's too important to our second unit to lose.
"Rudy is not everyday a shooter," Fernandez said. "He's defense. He's passes. He's assists."
I'd rather have Rudy Fernandez than Rudy Gay
I’d rather have Bayless than Gay as well. Sam Young is hot garbage with hustle.
Rudy and Bayless at least TRY on D, and Gay needs the ball in his hands (see: his conflict with Mayo). Rudy and Bayless are better off the ball and compliment Roy better. More importantly, Batum is the reason you don’t make this trade. Batum can play off the ball, take on the opponent’s best wing, handle the ball a bit, and play smart. That’s who you want next to Roy. Even though our SF line is nigh unto decimated in the short term, we’re good at SF for the future. I think that a Batum/Webster/Outlaw rotation at SF (with outlaw also at PF) is a diverse and productive rotation at a position where what we really need is competency.

Rudy Gay is a ballhog.
And thats not someone we need playing alongside players like Brandon, LMA, and Greg.

He's a nice player but...
I don’t know how Rudy Gay fits. He is a nice offensive player… but if you bring a guy in, you’ve got to consider the mix with the players we have now or in a year from now… as our roster develops/matures.
While he’s solid, I think Batum fits better as the Teshon Prince style defender and wing player offensively for Portland’s future.
