Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

No, not to fill the void as our backup banger, the man is 45. Although, maybe...
From a very nice interview with Nick Rattner of SLAM Online.

SLAM: Are you happy doing what you’re doing?
CO: I’m happy. I’m thinking trying to get involved in doing a big man camp next summer. Might land a job with one of these teams. Hopefully, New York or somewhere I’ve really been around. I’ve had some talks with the Bulls, Portland.

SLAM: You talked to Paxson?
CO: I talked to Jerry Reinsdorf, I talked to Larry Miller in Portland about working with some guys. The opportunity is there. I think it’s going to happen soon.

Other topics include "his past, his business endeavors (including a cooking show), what’s wrong with the NBA, and what measures will bring it back to health. "

who knows.

I am unfamiliar with his coaching history, i just know he could bang down low with the best of em. Might give Oden and Aldridge some more teeth.

I would love to have C.O. teaching out bigs

but I’d rather go for Lambier…Hated him back when I was a kid and he was Bad Boy, but in my life I have never seen a player get in the heads of a aposing player better. can you imagine LA and GO with their ability and the tricks and head games of Lambier?

Get well Mo! Leave Minny Bill!

C*mcast sucks!

I like Oak

Unforutnately, I think this indicates Lucas’ coaching carrer might be on hold/stopped due to his health. Definitely feel for Big Luke, it’s been a rough patch for him health wise

Luke was interviewed last week

he said he couldn’t bang anymore. Supposedly, Oakley can still bring the lumber

Bayno works on footwork with the big men, anyway. Charles would not have to coach the “technical” side, but he could teach the kids how to get away with “stuff” when the refs aren’t looking their way…

When reached 40 years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!

Love Mo.

But if he needs to step back, I’m fine with Oakley.

he probably can't teach Oden about footwork and jump hook on offense

But it would be nice if he can help improve Oden and Aldridge’s defensive skills.

How about Rudy?

Do the Blazers need to sign him to a 10 day contract first?

I didn’t know they looked for anyone but former Blazers to be assistant coaches.

by tominhawaii on Nov 21, 2009 6:24 AM PST reply actions

no no, they've moved on from

mediocre former Blazers to mediocre former players/not coaches from any team.

...and that's a good thing

Blazers Broadcasters Mike Barrett and Mike Rice re-enacted NBA referee Scott Foster's controversial goaltending call on Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who was defending Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star forward Kevin Durant, during this week's edition of Blazers Courtside. Remarkably, no one was injured during the taping of this segment.

OK, that should just about wrap up the goaltending discussion.
