Southern Oregon, Magnum, and yours truly, along with fashionably late arrivee Philthyanimal hit threes--Rudy style--as we go around the Edge, talking about last night's game, the season thus far, other team's attendance (or lackthereof) we've seen, and a bold prediction from Magnum (oh yes, Bill Simmons ins't the only one unafraid and unashamed of trolling for click counts).

Let Southern Oregon soothe you. Let Magnum persuade you with his smooth, suave stats. Let Phil...uhh...well he's our token Asian. 'Nuff said.

So, what up Bedge? Is Magnum off his rocker when he says maybe Blake isn't so bad in the starting lineup? Do we keep rolling with what's working (Southern's take) or do we mix it up now because Blake and Miller ain't gonna' work come playoff time (my take)? Feel free to sound off on whatever.

i still find it kinda funny and awesome that BE has like 3 podcasts

but i guess that is a testament to how dedicated we all are as fans…I saw this post over at hardwoodparadoxysm.com

I’ll be asked about this article as a testament to how severely sensitive and passionate Blazers fans are. I think Piston fans are smart, Celtics fans incredibly proud, Bucks fans admirable, Mavericks fans excited, and Knicks fans devoted. But nothing comes close to the passion of Blazers fans. the problem with looking at Steve’s +/- is that he plays a lot of minutes and we have a high point differential.

There is far too much noise to draw conclusions from Steve’s +/-. I think that it would be better to look at last year’s adjusted +/- and raw +/- to draw conclusions.

I feel like last year’s sample is more useful. His adjusted +/- from this year’s small sample size is about 3, a far cry from Greg’s 17 and fifth on the team.

(it just happens) but could it possibly be that you feel like last year’s sample is more useful because last year’s sample supports your hypothesis, as opposed to this year’s sample?

no. raw +/- is incredibly unreliable over the course of 11 games. Any statistician will tell you that. More data is required.
