Artest throws Ariza's shoe into the first row.
I know Artest is a Laker now, but hey, he did it to Ariza. Ron-Ron continues to be the most entertaining man in the NBA. I suppose this may not be the best example of sportsmanship, but it made me laugh each of the 5 times I watched it.

Anything to win....
I think I’m lovin artest more and more and more with every passing year.
The Faith don't panic, the faith freaks out, burns out farms, and torchs small villages in the name of The Faith.
Hilarious.

Actually
That was smart of Ron-Ron – get the frickin’ thing off the court before someone lands on it and blows a knee or sprains an ankle. It’s not like he tossed it into the stands, he just tossed it off the court and it slid a few feet.
It actually raises my opinion of Artest that he did that (and not for the reasons that others have raised).

Ariza was standing right next to him
I thought it was hilarious. It’s pretty clear in the slo-mo replay that he just saw an opportunity and took it without any hesitation. Ariza standing there staring downcourt in amazement is priceless.
Smart move
Although it would of been better had Ariza just ran down the court with only one shoe, haha
This game highlighted how great L*ker fans are.
From nba.com:
Home crowd boos as Lakers drop second straight
Houston put the game out of reach to open the fourth, as Houston rookie David Andersen scored Houston’s first six points to push their lead to 86-73 while fans booed the home team. The Lakers couldn’t get a sustained run going, twice turning the ball over on offensive fouls by Bynum and Odom.

If Kobe does it, he'd be a supreme prick.
But since crazy pills does it, its “quirky” and “funny” and “ron-ron being ron-ron”.
To me, regardless of who it is, its a bush league move.
"Ain't nothin' in this world for free."
I saw that totally as Artest
trying to keep everyone safe. He flicked it off the court so no one would step on it.
My favorite teams are the Blazers and any team that is playing the Lakers.
thats true...
he could have thrown it much farther into the crowd.
...and that's a good thing

what
but ariza goes for it too. He actually goes for it first, and he actually gets a hand on the shoe. Artest sees him go for it, picks it up from him and turns away from him to toss it.
Then he drills a three. Artest felt like he was on a roll at that point…
He should have ran up into the stands and punched a fan with it.

To be fair, I watched that game
and if I was in Artest’s position, I would’ve punched the fan also. The “Fan” was a convict out early on parole with a no drinking rule because he had issues with drunken violence. Of course, he was wasted at the game and hit artest with a beer. If a fat slob with 1/4 my strength hit me in the face with a beer, I’d knock him out to. I think most of the people here would. That would not have happened if the Pistons had extra security, they had requests several months in advance to beef up security, but their wonderful owner did not want to pay for extra security. It was the owner’s fault as much as Artest’s, yes Artest is guilty, but he is far from being the only one who was at fault.

It's just so perfect
That it happens to be the guy he switched places with. Rudy-whacking and lunacy aside, I have nothing against either one of them. It’s just perfect timing. It would only be kinda funny were it Luis Scola or Aaron Brooks or someone else,
