BE... the Horace Grant of SBN names
Regularly I check out the BE game previews. Usually the last line or so instructs me to check out our opponent’s perspective on their SBN site. I generally look but the timeliness and quality isn’t usually as good as ours and I don’t stay long. But I began to take notice of the other blogs names. So, while it has been attested to in the national media that BE is the best of the blog sites, run by the most knowledgeable hosts, and frequented by the most rabid fans (yeah Bill). I have to admit. We don’t have the most clever blog name…
Don’t get me wrong Blazers Edge is a good name. It is a respectable name. It is a starter on the blog name starting five. It is Horace Grant, Steve Smith, Buck Williams, or Brian Grant to successful starting fives. However, I do like a couple of names more than ours. There are also several that are just terrible. Here is my list, I‘ll start with the ones I don’t like. Let me know what you think.
Least original
CelticsBlog (really, no kidding)
Honorable mention:
Raptors HQ
Sactown Royalty (replacing “Kings” with “Royalty” isn’t clever)
Clips Nation (the original SBN site is my favorite baseball team Athletics Nation. For them it is original)
SLC Dunk
Silver Screen and Roll (Cheesy and I just hate the L*kers)
Some I like:
Third Quarter Collapse (I am not sure the reference but I suppose someone will tell me)
Mavs Moneyball (remember I am an A’s fan, I think Cuban is good for the game)
Peachtree hoops
Denver Stiffs
Bullets Forever & Straight Outta Vancouver (gotta know where you are from)
Blog a Bull (good use of alliterations)
Best double meaning:
Indy Cornrows
Honorable mention:
Peninsula is Mightier
My favorite nonSBN basketball blog name:
3 Shades of Blue (I think this is in reference to their logo)
My favorite/most original SBN blog name:
Canis Hoopus (I find the Latin naming of species approach witty)
What do you think?

SLC Dunk is a play on the movie SLC Punk.
I thought it was clever.

"Fernandez, to my eyes, is the Blazer who walks that walk most comfortably. A lot of Portland's fans (egged on, dare I say, by their local broadcasters) lament things like how Ron Artest or Yao Ming get to hit Brandon Roy's arms.
But I suspect Fernandez sees all that and thinks: We get to hit arms! Cool!"

Maybe we should just ask Casey Holdahl
Since he’s the one that developed the blog to begin with (or so I understand)
Blazers win!
I like Posting and Toasting
I like Posting and Toasting, the Knicks blog. Always thought that was clever.

Kind of wish he did say Harvey
at least he was a Blazer

That there is a Blazer Edge bugs me
that we retired Lewis and Clark bothers me too

we had to retire them...
they’re dead and zombies don’t last forever.

We need a big ole wagon
Join the bandwagon down the Oregon trail to root for the Blazers. Wagons just get rusty overtime unlike Lewis and Clark.
Sactown Royalty (replacing "Kings" with "Royalty" isn’t clever)
Sactown is not a word either… so both are different.
Denver Stiffs fits your complaint… but then you liked that name.
I don’t mind Blazers Edge as two words… the one word new logo makes me sad.
...and that's a good thing
Blazers Edge Double Meaning
i saw that some of you said it was a play on one of AC/DC’s songs and someone else even claimed it was a book. dunno about that last one cause who reads these days anyways. but it is a common known fact that Blazers Edge is a play on words that has to do with Razor Ramon’s finishing move when he was with the WWF haha

I thought a good name...
for the Houston blog would have been “Rocket Science”.
